Huat! Huat! Celebration with The Bar'n Malaysia

January 21, 2020 0
This 2020 Chinese New Year, if you haven't decided where to feast for this auspicious occasion, then The Bar'n will be the best choice to pick. For its spacious and comfortable environment that each venue carries their own special animal identity. It is a place that has the best of both world -food and drinks!

They also have Yee Sang that you can order to celebrate Chinese New Year with your loved ones!

And what's better to pair it with their amazing meals and wines or alcohol to unwind and dine through the night!

Ps. You can opt for Vegetarian Yee Sang.

We also had the Meat Lover's Platter (RM92) that combines a variety of meat like the deep fried luncheon meat fries, tender juicy chicken wings, marinated and full of flavour pork satay, smoked chicken sausage, dynamite chilli chicken sausage, crispy pork belly and the juicy grilled Lágrima inter coaster pork meat (the meat between the ribs).

Perfect to match with white wine or beer!

Then we also had the Pescatore Pizza (RM35) that is made with homemade tomato marinara with mozzarella cheese, super fresh sautéed prawns, mussels and squids!

Very appetising for a pizza and not too overwhelming. Pairs beautifully with white wine too!

I preferred red wine for its antioxidant and we ordered a bottle of their house wine just to unwind and dine the night away.

The Bar'n actually hosts a different theme at each venue and for IOI City Mall, Putrajaya it was Daisy and Lucky the cow.

I love how the area was decorated! It was cosy and at the same time fun!

And we met Ricky who only had one goal in his mind. And that is to make sure everyone leaves happily. His passion in the restaurant is just inspiring because of his love for the culinary industry where he was a chef for over 30 years.

During our dinner there, he was checking in with people on their experience and just genuinely getting to know us. He was really friendly and approachable. You will surely feel welcome here at The Bar'n, IOI City Mall, Putrajaya.

They also have a Cigar room that is properly filtered and closed up that you can have private events or meetings with your business partners.

Dodo Dim Sum & Bowls @ Subang Parade

March 15, 2019 0
It is truly a nice experience to be here to taste the first multicultural restaurant in Malaysia that offers dim sum and Thai delights under one roof! Am sure you will be wondering if this dim sum is halal or not?! But rest assured it is pork-free and as a Malaysian who loves my food bursting with flavours of asian fusion mix; It is definitely a joy to experience the best of both world here at Dodo Dim Sum & Bowls in Subang Parade.

The authentic handcrafted dishes prepared by Sifu Lee an his team includes a variety of steaming hot & fried variety of dim sum platters.

We were served with a refreshing Lemongrass drink that is thirst-quenching and cooling too.

These are the Steamed Dim Sum variety; Traditional homemade "Lo Mai Kai" sticky rice, Spicy chicken's feet, Siew mai dumplings, Minced meat dumplings with green chives and "Har Gow" dumplings.

Then there's the Chee Cheong Fun with honey BBQ chicken together with the deep fried variety of crispy mashed taro pie, "Woh tip" with shredded ginger and vinegar, Fried radish cake "DODO" style (this was bursting with flavours! Highly recommend this!) and also the Charcoal custard buns with salted egg.

For dim sum variety, it comes served with their sweet sauce and chilli sauce for dippings, exactly as how we asians love eating our dim sums!

If you're craving for Thai, Chef Khun Ben prepares a good array of Thai delicacies in a bowl that will suit your tastebuds as you can customize the flavours to make it spicier to your liking!

For their Thai flavours, we ordered their Thai Boat Noodles that is of small portions of the Nam Tok (rich dark beef broth), Tom Yum (Hot & sour broth), Khao Soi (spicy coconut curry broth) and Nam Sai (intense chicken broth). The unique part of this authentic Thai cuisine is, you can pair these boat noodles with some fried chicken skin or fried wan tan skin.

Their Thai Classics such as the Khao Klukh Krapi (fried rice with shrimp paste that is full of flavours, very tasty and also the crispy fried Som Tam to dip into their sweet & spicy sauce. Also their Gai Pad Prik Pao that is chicken wings stir fried with garlic, chilli and basil and served with sticky rice.

If your Thai food is not spicy enough or you want more garlic or even just to spice it up a notch with a twist of sauces, there's also 4 types of sauces (diced red chilli, red chilli oil, chilli flakes in chilli oil and fried garlic oil) you can add into your Thai dishes to suit your unique flavour.

For desserts, we enjoyed their freshly made Crispy Shanghai Pancake with lotus paste and Mango with sticky rice.

At Dodo Dim Sum & Bowls, they aim to ensure that customer satisfaction in the quality of their meals, is complemented by memorable moments that offers double the fun with both authentic cuisines in a single outlet by Ri-Yaz Global Food Brands Sdn Bhd.

It's interior decor in Subang Parade that has just newly opened recently, was really modern, bright, cheerful, stylish and colorful at the same time. A really warm and cosy place to dine with family and friends.

It was really fulfilling and nice dinner here because the portion size were quite generous! And being in Subang Parade, we were also just in time to watch Captain Marvel in MBO Cinemas and we booked ahead of time for our tickets. We even got to watch Dodo Dim Sum & Bowl very first advertisement on screen in the cinemas just before the movie starts!

Will definitely be back again for sure!

You can also check out Dodo Dim Sum & Bowls and follow them on their social media channels because there are fun contests, events , activities and updates that loyal customers can also enjoy special offers as part of Dodo Dim Sum & Bowls community!

KidZania Kuala Lumpur Celebrates their 7th Bubbly Anniversary!

February 23, 2019 0
When it comes to celebration of any kind, it is definitely the most exciting one. And at KidZania it is even more exciting as this year 2019 marks their 7th year Anniversary in existence as the ultimate edutainment centre in Malaysia at Kuala Lumpur.

I brought my son over to KidZania over the weekend to finally get his KidZania PaZZport and be recognized as a Naturalized CitiZen, at the same time I wanted him to deposit his KidZos into the bank. Over there, we were entertained with performances by KidZania talent crew and also the lovely birthday cake that has a number "7" placed over it.

It was really crowded too! Lots of kids joined in on the fun, whilst my son was a little shy at the beginning and he preferred to stay upstairs to have a bird's eye view of the whole event taking place downstairs.

It was also our first time meeting all the KidZania characters Urbano, Vita, Beebop, Chika, Bekha and Bache! The children at KidZania today definitely had fun, especially with the bubbles and balloons, as it was held infront of the Banana Theatre entrance.

The best part about the celebration is that, it is a month long celebration where all children can surely enjoy fun activities and games lined-up in celebration of the 7th Anniversary. Come to think of it, 7 years is truly a long time they've been around, I remember dreaming about coming to KidZania one day when I have my own kids and 7 years later I am here today with my eldest son that is finally of age (5 years old) to take part in the activities as he learn and gain new experience and exposures to real-life professions that remains today as a truly educational fun experience worth experiencing.

I also registered for the KidZania paZZport today because as members of the B.KidZanian loyalty programme called "CitiZens", your child could actually stand a chance to win some premium goods from KidZania Kuala Lumpur's industrial partners too; Such as Vitagen, F&N, Mission Foods and Emborg whom joined in on the celebration as well by offering CitiZen premium goods when they complete exciting challenges set up infornt of the Banana Theatre and take turns turning the "Wheel of Fortune" to see what prize they could get!

My son enjoyed himself today at his favourite job since he first came to KidZania; Canon photography. This time he was tasked to take the camera out on the field to capture an image of a venue where there were lights, music and where people perform like on centre stage. So my son just simply captured a nice shot of Banana Theatre, but he got it right at first attempt. When I look back at his first photo taken at Canon when he first came to KidZania and 1 year later today, he definitely grown so much.

Overall, I'll definitely be back again as my son is slowly warming up to this edutainment centre, where he learns the value of work life and spending or making KidZos money while being here. He also wants to buy the Crab Claw Stick Toy from KidZania Department Toy Store that is 300, so I told him to work harder and save up for it.

Today they even had new activities for their 7th Anniversary celebration such as :
- Making your own Bubble ArtZ
- Bubble Wand
- Faber-Castell Colouring Contest at the National Store

However, by noon my son misses his little brother and his father and wanted to head home after working at Brother's learning how to sew, Canon photography and Umobile Customer Service where he perfectly assembles the mobile phone battery, sim card and back cover properly without difficulties (and I never taught him that because he never used a smartphone or tablet in his life, atleast not so soon). So we headed back home with a big smile! He enjoyed himself nonetheless and I knew he was happy because today was like his special "ME" time with mommy only as we both "Learn Life Today" visiting the City of KidZania together.
