The Bon Appétit-lah campaign this year invites 1664 consumers to experience the extraordinary in simple everyday pleasures at its chic and trendy pop-up 1664 lounge in KL from 2nd to 17th June.

Transforming Sentul Depot’s iconic rustic look into a newly captivating space, 1664 has redesigned Warehouse 3’s raw interior into a modern bistro decked in shades of 1664’s iconic blue. Upon entering, the famed blue bulldog ‘Frenchie’ greets guests who can then chill-out at the contemporary dining hall decked with a miniature Eiffel Tower, perch around the beautiful 1664 bar & deli area or hang out at the cosy Blue Lounge clad in stylish armchairs that they can sink into; all while enjoying epicurean delights with a twist and the exquisite flavours of 1664 Blanc and 1664 Rosé.

Promising an unforgettable memoir enjoyed with friends, family, loved ones and furry companions over the two-and-a-half weeks of June, 1664’s Bon Appétit-lah will be treating guests to a complimentary welcome drink of either 1664 Blanc or 1664 Rosé upon arrival. Visitors will then be able to relish in a spread of gourmet bites concocted by food virtuosos NoLabel Cuisine, Waka Waka Gelato, The Bao Guys and Flaaah The Bakery. Also on the menu are special creative spaces where beer lovers will be able to repurpose 1664’s iconic blue bottle into an art piece, make their mark on the graffiti wall and to preserve the extraordinary experience, get the perfect digital caricature of themselves at the Portrait with a Twist on selected days.

Alternatively, visitors can just sit back, take in the atmosphere, and enjoy the rhythmic tunes by guest headliners Juztin Lan, Gaston Pong and Babychair during the Blue Hour on Saturdays. There will even be a specialty store where guests can score some cool merchandise from stylish streetwear brand NerdUnit, shades designer Kazoku, timepiece maker iROAS and wellness wizard Gote, alongside limited-edition 1664 goodies such as 1664 stem glasses and the exclusive artist edition trolley luggage. Pet parents will also be excited to know that they will be able to bring their furry friends along to 1664’s first ever pet-friendly pawty happening on the weekends, from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

Filled with pawsome activities for both pups and cats, animal lovers and their four-legged companions will be in for a purring, tail wagging good time. With that, I have been browsing for a solution that can eliminate bacteria effectively. Since the start of MCO in Malaysia there has been a surge for masks and sanitizer flooding the market out there. Then the UV Sterilizer rod was also seen trending.

And by luck, I came across the JOYLEE Covid-19 Battlepack that is pretty convenient to bring about and does as it says.

Huat! Huat! Celebration with The Bar'n Malaysia

This 2020 Chinese New Year, if you haven't decided where to feast for this auspicious occasion, then The Bar'n will be the best choice to pick. For its spacious and comfortable environment that each venue carries their own special animal identity. It is a place that has the best of both world -food and drinks!

They also have Yee Sang that you can order to celebrate Chinese New Year with your loved ones!

And what's better to pair it with their amazing meals and wines or alcohol to unwind and dine through the night!

Ps. You can opt for Vegetarian Yee Sang.

We also had the Meat Lover's Platter (RM92) that combines a variety of meat like the deep fried luncheon meat fries, tender juicy chicken wings, marinated and full of flavour pork satay, smoked chicken sausage, dynamite chilli chicken sausage, crispy pork belly and the juicy grilled Lágrima inter coaster pork meat (the meat between the ribs).

Perfect to match with white wine or beer!

Then we also had the Pescatore Pizza (RM35) that is made with homemade tomato marinara with mozzarella cheese, super fresh sautéed prawns, mussels and squids!

Very appetising for a pizza and not too overwhelming. Pairs beautifully with white wine too!

I preferred red wine for its antioxidant and we ordered a bottle of their house wine just to unwind and dine the night away.

The Bar'n actually hosts a different theme at each venue and for IOI City Mall, Putrajaya it was Daisy and Lucky the cow.

I love how the area was decorated! It was cosy and at the same time fun!

And we met Ricky who only had one goal in his mind. And that is to make sure everyone leaves happily. His passion in the restaurant is just inspiring because of his love for the culinary industry where he was a chef for over 30 years.

During our dinner there, he was checking in with people on their experience and just genuinely getting to know us. He was really friendly and approachable. You will surely feel welcome here at The Bar'n, IOI City Mall, Putrajaya.

They also have a Cigar room that is properly filtered and closed up that you can have private events or meetings with your business partners.

The BAR°N Opens In Sunway Pyramid

I've always ventured into this part of Sunway Pyramid, ever since one of my family favourite restaurant moved out, I kept wondering what's next? Today was the Grand Launch Opening of The BAR°N in Sunway Pyramid right outside at the Ground floor, next to the Main Entrance of Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall. With a special guest appearance by Barny The Camel.

The BAR°N is an established famous large destination for food lovers that has good taste in wine; With their preceding outlets located in Penang, Mont Kiara, Ara Damansara and Kuala Lumpur; Finally, having The BAR°N at Sunway Pyramid lends even more credibility to its vicinity's manner of being one of the ultimate destinations for food lovers in Klang Valley!

I love the ambience and the surroundings which are beautifully decorated in a modern and chic design that offers an alluring appeal for diners and social bugs who simply enjoys stunning flavors, unique dishes and tantalising beverages at reasonable prices with their friends, family and loved ones!

The venue I would say is truly more than just another dining venue. It's an entire WOW experience and developing culture that creates a unique offering that you can't even imagine. From cocktails, to mocktails, to their food line-ups and the racks of wine bottles up on display for your choosing. There's surely something on-the-house to suit everyone's unique taste-buds.

May it be for business or for leisure, this place is definitely one to look forward to with the people you cherish and respect. Because the food here is pretty tasty, appetizing and fresh. They variety of beverages alcohol and non-alcohol is also at an advantage especially if you can't take alcohol but wouldn't want to miss out on the fun times with your friends and family.

They also have created a special cocktail called "The Hump" in celebration of Barny The Camel and will also be served in Sunway Pyramid outlet for the next month with proceedings going to A'Famosa Animal Safari Park in Malacca.

Eat At Kong, Long.. Long..

Found this new cafe at SS15, right next to Jibril/Sangkaya.

How did I find out about Kong?

Through Entertainer app; Incase you are unaware, The Entertainer actually provides a variety of food & beverage choices and also hotel stays where you can actually enjoy "Buy 1 Free 1" offers.

It's always my passion to actually travel to places and try new food at new venues atleast once in my lifetime.

So here I am at Kong! Reasonably priced cafe food, with a handful of choice that seems common, like western food, such as chicken chop, fish and chips & etc.

BUT... It ain't so common when the food arrives!

The chicken chop is a MUST-HAVE meal! It's chicken is succulent, juicy & tender! The sauce is unique and blends really well with the chicken chop. The mash potatoes were good! As a mashed potato expert myself, theirs was of good mixing and mashing!

The Bangers and Mash was pretty good too and especially tasty and yummy for the mashed potatoes that my kids finished for me.

Here's a 50/50 split of the Bangers and Mash shared amongst my 2 boys.

My husband had their fried curly noodles, it was like stir-fried noodles with really subtle sauce or seasoning but lavishly seasoned with spices on top.

You have to mix it only got taste. It is a dish that I would say has many rooms for improvisations! It's still unique though and generous with its seasoning, but lacking in flavour.

I had their off-the-menu specials, Sirloin steak. And if these dishes are good enough, we can even help make it stay on their permanent menu!

So the verdict for the Sirloin steak was acceptable. I ordered Medium Well as usual. It came slightly pink in the center, just as how I like it to be! I feel the steak could do a few more tenderising. It can be chewed but if you have toothache/gum ache/kids/elderly with week tooth/gums, then this meat may not be suitable for you unless you cut them up into really tiny bite sizes for easier consumption!

I enjoy my meals everytime and I just had the urge to pair my steak with a nice chilled beer!

During the day, I'd go for the Ice Lemon Tea which my kids will always jump at the opportunity to share with me and sometimes finish it on my behalf! It gets annoying sometimes when that happens.

I love their interior design and table arrangements. It's simple and cosy, good place to catch up with friends or just chill out by yourself.

Day time

With it's cosy and peaceful environment, rest assured you can eat here at Kong, long... long... (Nobody will kacau you for sure, ahahha!)

Night time

You can sit outside too especially if you're an avid smoker. However the sad thing here is, upon my first visit inside, there was a table of young females smoking to their hearts content, but thankfully they left shortly after and I turned on a huge wall fan above us to blow the smoke away. So I am guessing you can smoke indoors too. But they do have baby chairs. Probably good for families whom the adults are smokers but to be honest, SMOKING can deteriorate anyone's health either fast or slow but it can kill, may it be First-hand, Second-hand or Third-hand smokers! Will I be back again? Yes, to use my Entertainer offers and also for their Chicken chop. I actually went twice already (hence the day and night setting photo). But I will check if anyone's smoking inside upon entering, especially with kids around. I don't blame the restaurants for this, because the whole of SS15 is flooded with students from all walks of life and smoking is like some of their "in" thing so it's like a trend to attract them too. Sad but it's true. Wanna avoid entirely also not easy, takkan stay locked up at home and don't eat meh. Sometimes you just have to close one eyes (and avoid as much as possible if can). Just remember that everything is a choice and everyone has a choice, you can't control everything.
