Ordering from myCITTA

Welcome to the new norm! If you're in 2020, then you will know what I mean. Since the Covid-19 pandemic happened across the globe, many industries are now finding ways to survive through these harsh times. To be honest, this is the time where you will see when the economy makes major changes and you will see many surviving and only few thriving. However, the fittest of them all is when you quickly turn things around and make a change to adapt as quick as possible! With that being said, CITTA mall has done it again this time!

CITTA Mall has officially launched its delivery platform, myCITTA, where shoppers can now simply tap their purchases from the comfort of their homes by accessing the platform via the mall’s websites at www.citta.com.my. Featuring an array of merchandise by retailers who operate in CITTA Mall, myCITTA offers shoppers the flexibility and convenience in browsing and making purchases online. Be it buying a pack of chips or signing up for a new fitness programme, shoppers can opt for home delivery or self-pickups upon making a purchase.

What I like about this initiative is that they actually have their in-house logistics to do the pick up and delivery to your doorstep! That's now all, you can also order from various merchants and get it shipped to you for free* (within 10km radius) or with a small logistic shipping fee!

I love CITTA mall effort in making it more safer and convenient for shoppers to shop for local deliveries beyond food within and outside of Klang Valley and you can purchase all your favourite goodies from the mall at the comfort of your own homes via your smartphone or via the web on your PC. Some of my favourite that my family would not miss are these!

Imagine sinking your teeth into that hot grilled flamed Saba fish! And the sweet juicy Chicken from Iyakimono!

Lest not forget some yummy snacks and savoury from Beans N Beans that is a Korean dessert cafe that you can enjoy super cheesy piping hot pizza with their warm brownie with ice cream on top. Quench your thirst with a delightful taste of fruity sensation!

And if you're wondering what to have for lunch or dinner? Let me recommend you the Universal Noodle that is power-packed non-halal with flavourful pork broth soup with generous amounts of pork fillings like the minced pork meat, the fried pork oil, the liver and etc. It's hard not to drink up the entire soup but I had to control myself haha!

In fact, to date, there are over 35 participating stores onboard, all of whom offer a wide selection of merchandise. Looking for good seafood and poultry steamboat these days ain't easy! Let alone, it is not common to find a really good Halal certified steamboat restaurant. Only a selected few that you may come across with and Pak John Steamboat is definitely one of them.

What's different with Pak John Steamboat, is that you get to enjoy free flow of food and beverages! Yes! It's buffet style! Why I love Halal certified food is because we are ensured of the finest ingredients used that meets the requirements and also the method of cooking and managing the kitchen overall is at utmost importance! (Eg. Even the poultry that is selected is important, you can't simply buy any poultry from the nearby market, it has to be of a Halal certified establishment with proper etiquettes and methods in preparing the food for consumption)

And being Malaysian, it is of the greatest joy to be able to dine together with everybody from all walks of life under one roof!

The entrance was really neat and organized. The colours, interiors and branding matched from the floor to the ceiling, plus it is well-lit. It is quite spacious inside and their seating arrangements are of a sharing concept.

Pak John has a variety of choices to satisfy your hunger and even your kids will be excited to be there! Their menu is quite simple, you simply pick the days and time you wanna be there and that will be the price per pax at that selected time slot. If you have a huge group, best is to call for booking or you can just walk in with your family.

They have 5 types of soup to choose from

#1 Prawn soup is my favourite, you can taste and smell the fragrance of the fresh prawn (with no prawn in it but you can add your own later lah). Surprisingly it is not spicy! It's like eating prawn noodle soup! Definitely a must try!
#2 Chicken soup is pretty common and suitable for the kids.
#3 Miso soup also suitable for the kids but it can be a little salty and sweet.
#4 Tom Yam soup was not spicy but it looks like red Tom Yam. I felt that it lacked the "kick" of the rich Tom Yam flavours & scent. Maybe because it was just the soup base. However, you can improvise it on your own to your liking because they have all the seafood, vegetables and sauces for you to play around with.
#5 Curry soup looks rich and some say "fragrant" but I was told it is also spicy! But if you love curry then you can opt. for this flavour!

What I like about this restaurant is that, apart from its steamboat at the bottom base and the grilling pan available on the top, their variety of cooked and raw food are aplenty! Means while waiting for your raw food to be cooked, you can savour the cooked food first. My kids (and my) favourite are the finger food! You can also order Waffles or DimSum and Pao too!

If you are a fan of Beef, Lamb or Abalone, they have a special counter to order these 3 Premium cuts! And it's unlimited, all-you-can-eat!

They also have a variety of noodles for your choosing and right after that there's also desserts, cakes, ice cream and even ABC ice shavings!

Drinks are free flow too! You can try everything, pick the one you love the most (for me it's Lemonade) or you can just opt. for plain water hot, warm or cold!

If you've never heard of New York Steak Shack in Malaysia, then you have no idea what you're missing out on! It's truly to most AFFORDABLE steakhouse that serves you with a wide range of premium choices of steak and meals for your choosing! That's not all, incase you don't already know, NY Steak Shack is the first steak shack in Malaysia to receive HALAL certification from JAKIM.

Now with it's new menu, you get to have more choice to choose for you and your family and friends! A New York City inspired fast casual restaurant concept where you can satisfy your cravings for the following :

Chicken Caesar Salad (RM16.80)

As an appetizer, it's good to have some healthy greens as a foundation or like a bed in your tummy. It's like setting the bed for the steak to lay on after this ahahaha! I like this salad, even though it may seem like nothing much to you, but with it's chicken breast and also cheese shavings with pepper, it makes this a really easy to digest appetizer to wet your appetite for the next meal!

Trio Apps (RM28.80)

A collection of NYSS most popular appetizers, the Chicken Tenders (RM18.80), Beef Meatballs (RM11.80), Shrooms & Onions (RM14.80) that is served with Homestyle Cajun honey mustard and Bistro sauce. If you don't know which appetizer to get to share with your family & friends, then just order this and it's settled, hassle-free!

MAIN ENTRÉE

If you're a fan of POULTRY, you must try their Chicken Tenders (RM18.80), hand breaded chicken strips, fried crispy to perfection and drizzled with Bistro sauce, Sriracha Chicken Sandwich (RM22.80), fried chicken breast with homestyle batter and smothered in Sriracha sauce with cheddar cheese.

I really enjoyed the Sizzling Duck Chop (RM29.80), it is tender, soft, succulent and juicy with every bite! It's been tenderized and marinated perfectly before it's grilled to perfection, with the brown sauce over it, it makes this sizzling dish piping hot and juicy to savour!

They also have, Duck Chop Pasta (RM33.80), grilled savoury duck chop slices complementing linguine pasta sautéed with caramelized onions, mushrooms and brown sauce!

If you're a seafood lover, then you shouldn't miss their Seafood Board (RM32.80), a combo of fish fillet with four pieces of shrimps and four pieces calamari served with salad, fries and tartar sauce. Also their Sizzling Emerald Fish Combo (RM29.80) that comes in a combo of four different combination where you can pair your Emerald Fish with Lamb Cevapi, Chicken Cevapi, Garlic Shrimps or Smoked Beef!

If you enjoy eating burgers like me, then you will definitely enjoy their Smokehouse Burger (RM29.80)! Chargrilled beef patty (150gms) topped with cheddar cheese and sauteed smoked beef, caramelized onions, chilli flakes, served with fries and drizzled with Bistro sauce! Every bite is satisfying and surely keeps your mouth full! Trust me, you cannot eat "politely" with this burger, because it is HUGE! (Must open mouth big big lolx!)

I really enjoyed their Sizzling Lamb Noisette (RM58.80), it's actually rolled boneless lamb at the shoulder part, tenderized and marinated, then grilled and served with your choice of 2 sides and sauce. I almost mistook this for Ribeye because of it's medallion shape!

But it was so juicy and succulent! I'll definitely bring my family over again for more of this! You could hardly taste the mild gamey taste that most lambs would have, because it is well marinated and tenderized before grilling to perfection, and with the sauce over it, it's just a match made in heaven!

At NY Steak Shack, you most definitely have to order their affordable steaks! And some of their popular steak that is now permanent on their menu due to its popularity from a previous limited-time offering campaign, are the Pulled Beef Sandwich (RM26.80) that is made of hand-pulled smoked beef (150gms) with black pepper sauce and caramelized onions, their Sizzling Beef Brisket Steak (RM40.80, 200gms), Beef Meatballs (RM11.80)and Sizzling Darling Downs Wagyu (RM68.80, 200gms).

I love their Sizzling Darling Downs Wagyu (RM68.80, 200gms)! Ordered second servings of it because it's really yummy! Made out of Wagyu Striploin grilled to perfection and served with your choice of two sides and sauce. You can also choose your "Doneness" level, which my favourite are the Medium or Medium Well! Because every bite your teeth sinks into the meat, it actually unleashes a warm juicy and meaty beef that is marinated perfectly to suit your tastebuds! And if you love Wagyu and beef, for the first time ever, NY Steak Shack will be having a Wagyu Steak Eating Challenge where winners get to walk away with FREE meals at NY Steak Shack for an entire year! As a parent, we always strive to provide the best for our children! That includes everything from birth onwards even until adulthood! A parents love never ends, it is a neverending journey. There's just so much love to go around; May it be 1 child, 2, 3, 4, 5 or no matter how many children you have, deep in every parents heart there's so much room and love to go around!

That being said, when a child reaches 6 months old, especially for a new parent, the biggest phase that all family goes through is "Solid" food feeding! What to feed? When to feed? How to feed? So many questions, even Google search has so many answers but which one is really "the one" that will ease the journey for both parent and baby through the solid food journey?

So today, allow me to introduce "Afyat - Food for Tots". It's a mix of deliciously 100% pure homemade healthy fruits & veggie baby puree!

Puree???
Yes, Puree! I know many of you are thinking that it won't taste good or probably thinking you can easily make it on your own.

Well most of you are true. Commercialized brands available at your local supermarket doesn't taste good. It doesn't taste real at all! More synthetic than the real thing! And it can last long because of added preservatives or additives! I'm sure you wouldn't wanna feed your child chemicals or processed food at such a young age?!

What about DIY your own Puree?
Can be done BUT it ain't easy nor affordable. If you have the time then go ahead but remember to look after your child while making because at 6mths old, the milestones that they will achieve is unimaginable! Some will start crawling or turning over their tummy!! Lots of fun play times with them so it's not easy to have time to make your own Puree too. You'll end up having loads of excess Puree that doesn't taste too yummy for you that you have to freeze and refreeze for baby consumption daily.

This is really tasty and the mixed blend is just perfect! Great for introducing new flavours to your child! No sugar added!

OMG! The BEST! My All-Time Favourite! Savoury sweet that is mild and appetizing at the same time. Makes you wanting for more!

4. Pomegranate, Beetroots, Dates

A lil word of caution, Beetroot & Pomegranate are both originally red in color, hence why this puree is red color. Rest assured there's added colouring! It's from these 2 ingredients! So be prepared for some red stains but it's fun altogether! My youngest helped to color my sofa cover with this 😂 (Luckily it's just the cover 😅)

5. Carrot, Apple

Carrots are great for the eyes (reeeeaalllyy lah, tak tipuuu!). This is orange in colour and its natural from the Carrot (incase you didn't know). The taste is of fresh carrots and apples. Your kids will never know that there's veggie in here!

My verdict : All the variants tastes great! I even help to finish whatever leftovers (which I don't usually do with Puree)! I never eat puree because it's not to my liking but these are just perfect! You can even mix and eat it with yogurts, if it's frozen it can be eaten like ice cream or make them like popsicles! You can also warm it up before feeding your child.

A great comfort food suitable anytime, anyday! If your child is unwell, you can also feed them these because it's non-dairy. It's not too sweet, for me it's just nice with it's natural sweetness.

Wholesome Iftar Feasts This Ramadhan @ Dorsett Putrajaya Malaysia

The best time of the year is here again! Ramadhan! Why is it the best?

Typo lah... "Sebrinah Yeo" ehehhehe

Simply because I love how the variety of local Malaysian cuisines, some traditional and some modernized, comes together to break fast during Ramadhan.

Today I have my chance to experience #Bismillah Buka Puasa Feast @ Citra Rasa, Dorsett Putrajaya.

With over 500 truly Malaysian and International fare prepared by the Executive Chef, Chef Shamsul Rizal and his team; A sumptuous spread of authentic "kampung style" delicacies & live-cooking hawker stall will be offered throughout Ramadhan from 18th May - 13th June 2018.

Today I get to enjoy most of their specialty! Such as the Durian buffet, the succulent, sweet and tender barbecued venison meat, the beautiful spread of cakes, jelly & desserts and the amazing display of Kurma to break fast with.

Let's not forget the yummy local Malaysia delights, the Ulam, Pucuk Ubi Masak Lemak, Patin Tempoyak, Kerutup Daging, Udang Galah Percik, Kuih Bahulu Tradisi, Nasi Kerabu, Laksam Kelantan, Pulut Pisang and just so much more!

They had Cream Mushroom soup that was really rich and flavorful, buns, Quesadillas and Kebabs that I requested, for non-spicy for the kids (and me lolz); Oh! There's also a range of yummy snacks that me and my kids were pretty excited about!

They have a few choices of beverages too! And it matches really well with these yummy dishes. Like the cincau, lemongrass, lychee, sugarcane & etc; All of these were really cooling, refreshing and gets your appetite going!

Over here, you will see the "kampung style" dishes like the Ulam, some international salads variety, lots of traditional sauces & sambals to choose from, a very nice mix of western and local delicacies cozied up at this area.

The fruits were amazing! It's like a mini fruit buffet spread. The durian was gone in a jiffy! The rambutan, longan and pear was really sweet and fresh!

There's also a live traditional music performance by Isma & Sri Mawar Band that will perform nightly.

My kids were pretty satisfied too. Especially my eldest, he ate until his stomach was showing! He enjoyed himself here.

It was hard to resist the flavors of the spices merging together in all these dishes! However, I manage to try almost everything available! It was scrumptiously delicious and satisfying for the whole family! I'd definitely recommend this wholeheartedly! One time makan tak cukup lah ~
