Disability Does Not Hinder Your Success Like Jamumall Founder

May 01, 2019 10
Disability is not an inability. Although it may be difficult for one to do anything deem normal in this world. It is still not an excuse and it is only a matter of willpower and strength that can take you to greater heights!

After watching this viral video on Jamumall Founder, Khairul Nizam. How he started his Jamumall entrepreneur business in his current state is truly inspiring!

From the age of 30 yrs old, he never led a normal life. Even though he is an OKU and able to move only 3 fingers. He started his business Jamumall Sdn Bhd and established a well-known platform amongst locals online at Jamumall.com.

As a successful entrepreneur like him, he is grateful to be able to enjoy life, buying things that he likes, enjoy luxury food, travel to countries like Dubai, Japan, Australia and many more places. Providing for his family and a home for them as well. Not to brag or whatsoever, but his true desire and dreams to succeed and his reason to succeed is truly inspiring, because he is not as fortunate as many of us out there.

The irony is, there are those out there who actually desires his wealth and lifestyle but are they as strong and determine as him?

He has to suffer a lifetime, no days or weeks. He can only move 3 fingers and he has to rely on others to feed him, bathe him, transport him, basically do everything for him as he is not bodily able to. Sometimes when he is thirsty and there's no one around, it's not easy to go through as he is reminded of his current state he is in on a wheelchair, but he knows that he should be positive and continue living because there must be a reason why God allows him to continue on with life even with just 3 fingers that is able to move and a strong willpower and desire that allows him to go on with life and turning into a successful entrepreneur.

He definitely wishes to be bodily-able again, to be able to walk, run, jump and do things like other people do everyday. If only he had that chance he will surely go out and do so much more to contribute back to society. He also mentioned that these days, some people are ungrateful for what they have. They have the power to change their lives but are not doing so. They seek the easy way out, some rather not do anything with their life and just sit back relax and do nothing even when they can go out and do so much and help their family! It's quite disappointing to see how people give up easily these days while he is doing all he can, all his best to do something for himself, for his family and for the community.

His inspiring story shows no defeat and his desire to succeed shows to boundaries that can be competed with! This proves that SUCCESS JUDGES NOBODY and only comes to those who truly desires it wholeheartedly, regardless of what state they are in!

Ibu Nakhoda Hidup 2018 For Mumpreneurs of Malaysia

June 07, 2018 0
Was grateful to be able to be at this inspiring event that took place in MYDIN USJ Subang Jaya today. The closing ceremony of the Ibu Nakhoda Hidup 2018 today features 15 selected mumpreneurs with their amazing background and stories on their journey in their small medium enterprise business from home. Apart from these, they are now looking for 5 more mumpreneurs to be on board this programme (application ends 31st July 2018).

Today's highlight was also the "Pledges" board that is open the public to write in their suggestions or feedbacks on how these mumpreneurs can further enhance or improve their business. I literally wrote suggestions for all of them as I advocate on supporting homemakers because I have a special feature page just for them on my web and also helping to admin several Facebook Groups myself, I realize some moms are unaware of all these support that is happening out there that could be of benefit to their small business from home.

The Ibu Nakhoda Hidup programme went on a nationwide tour to 10 MYDINs since it started earlier March this year. The programme co-organized by Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (MYDIN), Procter & Gamble (P&G) and NGO-Pertubuhan Pembangunan Kendiri Wanita and Gadis (WOMEN:girls); saw growth and improvement from participating mumpreneurs across Malaysia throughout this programme.

This programme started 3+ years ago on May 2015 and had over 400 mumpreneurs applicants and more every year. This year alone a month before the closing ceremony today, they have received up to 150 applicants from mumpreneurs across Malaysia.

"When it first started, we at MYDIN were very excited, because we get to build a programme that resonates with a majority of MYDIN's customers - mostly mothers, who are venturing into business and entrepreneurship. It's also a great way to create a network of mumpreneurs who can help one another improve in their businesses. Like me, prior before joining MYDIN, I used to run a school daycare centre myself and I have personally felt the difficulty that most of these mumpreneurs are facing; That's why this programme is also to tell all mumpreneurs out there that you are not alone in this journey." said by Datin Wira Dr. Hajah Siti Hawa Mohd, Director of MYDIN.

P&G has spent almost more than RM200,000 worth of products from these mumpreneurs along the way and during 2015 to 2017, RM300,000 was raised to help these women in their businesses.

"Despite the ups and downs of economic situation in the world and this country, this has been one of our dear programmes, which have not only changed the lives of the mother entrepreneurs that we have found and selected, but also the people working behind this programme, and how thet view life and the values they have within themselves.- Teoh Gaik May, General Manager of P&G Malaysia"

For the past 2 months, RM0.05 cents was collected with every sales of P&G products across MYDIN outlets nationwide and in total, they have collectively managed to raise RM106,078.55 that was presented in cheque form by Datuk Wira (Dr.) Haji Ameer Ali Mydin, Datin Wira Dr. Hajah Siti Hawa Mohd and Ms. Teoh Gaik May, General Manager of P&G Malaysia to the President of WOMEN:girls, Ms. Low Ngai Yuen. This amount will be further used to improvise, enhance and support the 5 new mumpreneurs that will be selected this 2018.

This programme itself has garnered many support from organisations such as Tekun Nasional (Selangor), Kelab Usahawan Selangor, Hijrah Selangor, Women Entrepreneur Network Association (WENA) and Giat MARA (Johor) through roadshows and on-ground engagement.

This programme is really a game-changer especially for working mothers from home with their hidden talents and skillset that can be leverage to build their own business of their own. Especially with support from these amazing corporate companies, you don't just get the exposure but you can even learn from one another through the journey. For MYDIN, being a part of this special programme, allows them to have more offerings and choices to their customers in a variety of products and even opportunities for these mother's to have a successful business as well.

It is not just about support though monetary form, but it's the whole journey altogether that this programme can offer. A journey for these mumpreneurs to step up and be a role model, an inspiration to other moms out there, to venture into their own field of expertise and how to further expand their business. Hoping that these mumpreneurs would be able to get more opportunities and be empowered to make changes in their life and living through this programme as well.

From all of the 15 alumni of the Ibu Nakhoda Hidup programme, today's 2018 closing ceremony were joined by all five 2015 ibu, Ibsatulhaily Ibrahim, Rozaih Asman, Farah Izyan, Ratna Adnan and Tengku Norhaslinda; 2016 ibu, Mazleen Mahmood and Rohaiza Selamat and 2017 ibu Azizah Ahmad, Haimisah Mahli and Anita Othman.

"Success of the mumpreneurs is subject to how big or how small and most importantly what these mumpreneurs define success to them. It is not a one-off journey but it is a journey where we meet and talk with these mother entrepreneurs all around Malaysia, as we get to understand the issues and challenges faced by them in making their passion in business happen; And this is the most important part of the programme. The ability to understand, adapt and improve the opportunities that we have within our programmes that could help them get through their issues and overcome their challenges. We look forward to expand this programme that would not just benefit the mothers but also the entire family as a whole." said by Low Ngai Yuen, President of WOMEN:girls.

Applicant selections are based on basic questions then WOMEN:girls community will go on-ground to understand and speak to these mumpreneurs to understand them further. As said by Low Ngai Yuen, "the measure of success is not based on how much they earn but how they feel doing what they are doing."

Winners for Ibu Nakhoda Hidup every year will receive opportunities in terms of branding, business as well as enhancement in machinery and equipment to bring their business to the next level which is funded from the Hulurkan Harapan Fund established since 2013 generated through purchase of P&G products in MYDIN to support social causes and initiatives championed by P&G.

I was grateful to be able to get my face caricature by the amazing talented local cartoonist Azha Hamid "Aloy" who was started his amazing career through "Bakat Kita" column under "Gelihati" magazine and shortly after his skill was further improvised and enhanced further as he was drawing for "Gila Gila" Magazine for the cartoon "Sidek". It was a really quick caricature too! Didn't even take 10 minutes.

A Journey To Kota Kinabalu Sabah

March 30, 2018 2
I've always wanted to travel to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah in East Malaysia. Now I may have that chance with my family! In doing so, I have to plan ahead for this journey especially with kids! Thankfully, with the help of other parents in my support group, some are even locals themselves who has shared tips and even places that me and my whole family will enjoy together. That being said, let's begin my journey plans and save it down here for future reference!

Image Captured from Traveloka
It's pretty easy to use Traveloka as you get to choose the best flight rates available with various airlines and schedules. If you're lucky, you may even get to find really cheap air tickets!

These are my summary of the itinerary that I will be planning for my journey to Kota Kinabalu with my family. Am also including all the other amazing recommendations and tips from my friends!

STAY : Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa, Kota Kinabalu
💟Provides room views of both the ocean, Mount Kinabalu or South China Sea
💟5-10 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes away from the city
💟Surrounded by natural beauty
💟It's a private spa island
💟There's 7 dining venue (4 restaurants, 3 bars/lounges) at this resort!
💟Kids activity area like water play area, pool, play area for toddlers or younger kids with padded walls and soft gentle toys catered for them. There's even a babysitting option provided by the resort at a small fee of RM30 per hour. There's also a kids club with more activities and schedules of fun-filled excitement for the kids

Other venue's worth staying at, recommended by my friends are;
1. Sutera Harbour Resort (They have their own jetty too and also 5-10 minute from airport)
2. Kinabalu Pine Resort, Kundasang (Stay for 1 night to enjoy stunning Mesilau views)
3. Little Hut, Kundasang (It's in the middle of a local village, best to bring your own food as there's nothing much to eat here at night but the Mesilau view is beyond words and the kids will love the hut. Best to stay for 1 night)
4. Gaya Centre Hotel, is opposite Suria Sabah Shopping Centre
5. Mandarin Hotel, Gaya Street. On Sundays the Gaya Market starts just outside the hotel.
6. KK Suites Hotel, Gaya Street. The street food at Gaya Street is amazing according to reviews!
7. Marina Condo, a service apartment in town.
8. Guest houses if you are adventurous!

ISLAND ADVENTURE :
🏝 Island Hopping! It would be nice to go on island hopping with my family to visit the true beauty of nature and breakaway from the city lifestyle. There are 5 islands for island hopping such as Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan, Pulau Gaya and small islands of Pulau Mamutik and Pulau Sulug.
🏝 Borneo Kellybays, approximately 30km from Kota Kinabalu, in Tuaran. A beautiful place that is suitable for kids and it is special because it is the only Sabah nature attraction that lays between the sea and river.
🏝 Sepanggar island, a 12 minutes boat ride from KK. Only accepts maximum of 40 pax tourists per day. It's price range is from RM120 onwards per pax inclusive of return boat trip and lunch. They also have water activities too.

BEACHES :
🏖 Tip of Borneo, if you love beautiful beaches.
🏖 Beach at Karambunai is beautiful and clean; Lots of Korean tourists there too.

OTHER AMAZING ACTIVITIES :
♨ Poring Hot Springs, bring extra clothes to change.
🏠 Rumah Terbalik/Upside Down House, this is quite common now. Also available in other parts of Malaysia.
🐟 Fish massage, great way to relax while the fish nibble those dead skin away from your feet. It's ticklish too!

🏞 Perdana park is a good place for kids. The Musical fountain at night starts from 8pm.
🏔 Kokoi Hill, the kids will enjoy the cool weather.
🏞 Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is another great place for families with kids, a really nice park to enjoy nature with.
🐇 Rabbit farm for the kids, they will enjoy it!

Most of them said the seafood here is the best! And Tuaran Noodle, Sang Nyuk Noodle, Beef noodle and Seafood tom yum noodle are a MUST TRY delicacy!

🍽 Salut Seafood Restaurant
🍽 Welcome 100% Seafood Restaurant
🍽 Upperstar Pepper Grill & Bar
🍽 Nancy Kitchen, provides good food and there’s a playground for kids to play and it’s by the beach.

🥛 Desa Cattle Farm in Kundasang, enjoy fresh delicious milk and yummy yogurt ice creams.
🍓 Strawberry Garden Kundasang, you get to pick strawberries here.
🐝 Gombizau Honey Bee Farm, because "Honey add to everything it will sweeten up your life"

TRAVELLING TIPS :
Don't go during end of the year as it's raining season; It will be super cold and wet. Best to go during mid school holiday season.

OPTIONAL : DAY TOURS
If you are looking for day tours, my friend recommended "Amazing Borneo" for their top rated services.
The "North Borneo" cruise is alaso great, the food is also tasty.

With all these useful information, this will make my journey to Kota Kinabalu much more ease! Hopefully it will also assist you on your journey too! Until next time.

The title says it all. The proposal of our lives. Surrounded by all the mushy-gushy videos on YouTube and friends that try to extravagant their proposals and go viral. It almost seems like a competition. However, not for me & my now "hubby".

We prefer a more special moment between us both.

I won a Samsung Corby from Nuffnang!

February 04, 2010 5
The title says it all~!... I never thought of winning in the first place! I just wanted to share my experience and how I really truly feel when I was invited to the Samsung Corby "Color Me Carnival" event! Even though I didn't win that day, I never felt any loss too. Because that day, like I said, I met lots and lots of cool and awesome people and all bloggers from Nuffnang!

Well, I'm here today sharing my journey to collect my prize... (Thank You x1000000000 million/billion/trillion/zillion times Nuffnang!!)

When I received this email, I first though - Is this for real?!?!?!

Now THIS email, my heart stopped for a brief 5 second!!! I was stunned and shocked and... Okay more realistic, I was surprised! Never in my life I ever imagine anything like this to happen to... of all the people & bloggers on earth... ME?!?! Yes, I'm not faking it.... I'm really grateful "sobs tearfully"... *drips...drips* OKAY enough drama... Next...

Simple enough, regardless of the brand or model, it is by far "the" FIRST prize I won from Nuffnang and "the" FIRST mobile device I've won in my entire history! Feels so happy I could cry... Lolx... (of course if it's a Nokia I'll go GaGa over and over, bragging and blabbing again and again... lolx -no offense Samsung, I just love Ovi...)
