Family Fun Never Ends with Happy Go KL Malaysia

February 14, 2019 0
If you think the Chinese New Year holidays are over (and 1 week school break) and it's back to reality again, well you aren't completely wrong; But who says that we can't continue the fun times with the family whether at work or at school?

Why So Serious?
We all have a lil child in us whether you are aware or unaware, but everyone has a lil child in them no matter how old we are. And with that in mind, don't let life take the fun out of you! You should create the fun out of life! Regardless, if we're busy at work stressing over those accounting sheets or that report due next week, or homework for tomorrow; It is important to take some time off to just spend precious moments that no amount of money can buy for you and your family; That precious bonding moments with your family filled with fun is priceless!

With Happy Go KL, I love how the moms behind this (Kirsi & Jilly) came up with this inspiring platform that allows us parents the privilege to have true fun activities with the family right here in the hearts of KL! Sometimes we run out of ideas on what to do with the family besides window shopping at malls all over KL or heading to the theme park; There's gotta be more to that than just shopping malls and theme parks right?

Thankfully for Happy Go KL, through looking up more info on it, I noticed how they are a go-to site for all parents that is just looking for more fun activities and outings for the family, especially if you have kids, this site is perfect! It gives lots of travel tips, fun hotspots, tips of nearby destinations and now they even have games that you can enjoy with the family wherever you are, even at the comfort of your own home, it can be a fun activity for everyone with the right tools.

So I decided to grab their games on-the-go like the fun and educational deck of playing cards (RM35) and also the board games that is my all-time favourite, Lizards & Ladders (a twist to the good ol' Snake & Ladders) RM70. Best decision ever if I may say. Let me tell you why!

The Fun & Educational deck of playing cards was really educational and colourful too. It has animals on every card that represents the wildlife in Malaysia so that the kids can learn the fun facts about the animals as they play with the deck of cards. It can be played in many ways than just one!

Children can enjoy it in the following :
- Snap
- Memory
- Flash Card
- Educational info reading
and more

Adults or teenagers can enjoy the deck with games such as below :
- Gin Rummy
- Last Card
- In Between
- Big 2
- Poker
and more

The Lizard & Ladders game board is created based on our Malaysian rainforest theme and we do have aplenty of Lizards from tiny ones to huge ones running about out there. What I like about this game is how it is fun to know that with the Durian support card you receive, it can either help you on winning the game or get your Durian card gobbled up by the Orangutan.

My kids love playing with the games with their own rules at their own pace of course (you can't set rules on kids, it doesn't work. Period.). But we did have some fun time together and that is the most important whether it rains or shine, we can just have fun times together anywhere!

Sunway Lagoon 61st National Day Celebration

August 17, 2018 0
Celebrating Wonder Years with Sunway Lagoon together with your family as we are nearer to National Day and Malaysia Day! 2018 marks Malaysia's 61st Merdeka celebration (or very own Independence day!). And to commemorate the wonderful occasion, Sunway Lagoon launched it's "Proud To Be Malaysian" campaign inconjunction with the unveiling of "One", a mesmerizing and beautifully made 7 Bisons sculptures, created by Infantino Fernandes, from India. He is a self-taught artist who is now a full-time sculptor, His work of art has travelled to many countries such as China, Japan, Australia, Dubai, Kuwait, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Malaysia; And commissioned by various International Hotel chains.

Incase you didn't know, Infantino has been onboard with Sunway group since 2014, his first commission being the 'Yang' in 2015 followed by 'Victor' in 2016.

The amazing 7 Bisons sculptures directly opposite Sunway Lagoon theme park main entrance, depicting Gaurs (Indian Bisons), looks really life-like! It is made out of 7000 strips of mild steel and it took Infantino 22months to complete it from August 2016 to April 2018! This beautiful work of art is called at 'One' and signifies unity; Sunway Group are looking to get 'One' on The Malaysia Book of Records for the "Most Number of Metal Sculptures in a Single Collection by a Solo Artist category"! 'One' also transcripts a message behind it's work of art;

As individuals at our core, with all the differences in our personalities and characters, WE ARE ONE. Through "One", the artist seeks to instill in the viewer, the hope that someday we will come together as a herd that thinks about the betterment of all its members. Someday, we will UNITE; Someday, we will be "ONE".

To kick-off the celebrations, Sunway Lagoon Theme Park has lined up fun-filled activities from 17th August - 16th September 2018, such as Cultural Dance performance, Silat Workshop, the Flag Hoisting Ceremony and Traditional Games such as the 'Congkak', 'Sepak Raga' and 'Batu Seremban'. By celebrating the country's rich cultural heritage together, it helps to instil the spirit of patriotism in Malaysians. I generally love this idea, because kids these days are too exposed to technology and new gadgets. leaving all these wonderful traditional games behind.

What's even better is, Merdeka babies will be entitled to a mystery gift by flashing their MyKad at the ticketing counter on 31st August 2018!

Apart from the games and fun-filled activities lined up, visitors can also expect performances like the art of 'Teh Tarik' puring and 'Roti Canai' tossing on 16th September. Young visitors will also receive LIMITED EDITION 'Proud To Be Malaysian' temporary tattoos and other goodies on Merdeka Day and Malaysia day itself!

That's not all! There will be bazaars and food stalls available for foodies to complete the Malaysia Bazaar Bingo Card game in return for cool prizes! From 17th August to 9th September, the weekly 'Man VS Food: 61 sec' challenge will test the strength of participants' belt line!

When I first visited Sunway Lagoon decades ago, it was just a short walk in the park. Coming back again with my son, I am in awe! With more than 90 attractions across SIX parks! That is crazy! Now spreading across over 88-acre!

Today alone, I took 10k steps, approx. 33km just walking in the theme park alone, from the Extreme Park to the Nickelodeon Water Park to the Wildlife Park. Usually there's a bus that takes you to places faster, but couldn't spot any bus today in the park.

From 17th August - 16th September 2018, guests can enjoy RM61 off Sunway Lagoon's admission fee by presenting your MyKad (even when purchasing tickets online). Senior citizens will also be able to visit the park for FREE with their family! So bring your whole family to Sunway Lagoon, especially now with the school holiday season has begun!

Swiss Dream Circus Malaysia

August 01, 2018 0
SWISS DREAM CIRCUS is coming to Desa ParkCity (Carpark 3, Plaza Arkadia) from 17th Aug to 9th Sept 2018. This is definitely a great time to come and bring your family and your children to come and explore the wonders of this years Circus show; It will be an artistic spectacle that will allow you to dream and be enchanted as you immerse yourself in a world full of amazing wonders and fun-filled emotions!

The line-ups of the internationally acclaimed performers from all over the world will be here to take you on a journey full of dreams, fantasies and take you beyond your wildest imaginations!

Evgenia (Violinist & Songstress) from Russia. For the first time the Swiss Dream Circus presents a violinist. The combination of live violin and harmonic performance opens up completely new possibilities to add to the charm of the show. Evgenia will also inspire you with her beautiful voice, as she enchants you with her violin.

Isabela Pessolano (Aerial Ring) Venezuela. For the first time, Swiss Dream Circus combines two different branches of the arts into a beautiful duet. Be enchanted as Isabela floats in the air while
she is accompanied by Evgenia’s enchanting violin playing. An awesome visual treat that makes you forget just how much power the artists need to make it look so harmonious.

Yurie Basiul (Handstand Act) Moldova. Yurie Basiul is a shooting star in the circus art industry and has already enchanted the audience with his "dream in white" on many major stages. He astounds the audience with his physical strength. His movements seem weightless, a result of years of hard training. It just looks so easy. I'm definitely ready to be blown away.

Maria & Alex (Pole Act) Romania. A great pole act is one that is both smooth and graceful. This artistic discipline is particularly difficult and requires enormous power and strength. These two award-winning Romanian artists are true masters of their craft and enchant their audience with a loving and seemingly effortless staging. It's even breathtaking from watching the picture.

Clown Tirro (Clown) Venezuela. South American Clown Tirro has spread laughter and joy throughout many countries in his 10 year career. Come and see his effortless interaction with the crowd and be tickled by his funny antics.

Igor & Tatiana (Knife Throwing Act) Russia. Real life couple Tatiana & Igor like to do “dangerous things” together. This is their first time in Asia and they are looking forward to amaze the Malaysian
audience.

Isabela & Ernesto (Cradle Act) Venezuela. This Venezuelan duo have dedicated their art to a very special prop – the Russian Cradle. Unbelievable jumps are performed by Isabela but she
always lands safely in the trusty arms of Ernesto. Trust and precision are extremely necessary to perform this act. In the past, they have performed primarily in South America and are looking forward to show-off their skills for the first time in Malaysia.

Jean (Drone Comedy) France. Jean has many artistic talents and one is certainly his humorous side. Jean and his drone. A funny parody between man and machine.

Duo Romance (Aerial act) Romania. "We are proud that we were able to secure this award-winning couple from the Romanian State Circus Globus to our show. With amazing power and elegance they present a wonderful act which combines sensuality with just the right amount of risk – creating an unforgettable “Love Story” in the air." Get ready to be mesmerized by this amazing couple as they counterbalance gravity with their impressive figures in the circus dome.

Flames & Co (Diabolo) France. Jean and Morgan, the French duo, amaze with their virtuoso diabolo act. Awarded at the Festival International du Cirque du Loir-et-Cher in France and now after a guest appearance in Switzerland they are now on tour with Swiss Dream Circus. An old Chinese toy has encouraged them to create a fantastic performance. It is magical when the burning diabolo flies high in the circus dome. A mix of dance and incredible moves make this act a very special experience.

Trio Naumov (Russian Bar) Russia. This exceptional award-winning trio was once part of world-renowned Cirque du Soleil. Their main apparatus is the Russian Bar – a thin fibreglass
bar that supports one while resting on the shoulders of strong porters. Don’t miss their legendary triple somersault that is sure to keep you at the edge of your seat.

A good circus is one that leaves an impact and mesmerizes the audiences through the artists in the ring, that not only does their job with perfection but lives for what they do and conveys emotions through their actions! For Swiss Dream Circus, it is their passion to create a great Circus experience of exceptional quality that is fun, entertaining and remembered for, for everyone!

Marco Baumgartner - Founder & Producer & Ismail Stork - Marketing & Organization
Each year, Swiss Dream Circus embrace the challenge of putting together new, amazing and engaging Circus spectacle, whereas this year, you can expect a unique combination of traditions with innovative modernity that will entertain everyone of all ages, from all walks of life!

Don't you want to see it all live in action?! Then this is the chance for you! Don't miss it as it will be an unforgettable experience under their Big Top! I definitely won't because my kids would surely enjoy it.

Fun Family Moments at Kiddomo Universe Malaysia

June 30, 2018 0
With the emergence of kids playland mushrooming across the country in most shopping malls, it makes me wonder, which stands out better than the rest; Or are they the same.

So today I decided to visit Kiddomo Universe because my son has been reminding me to take him to the playground for 2 days! So I promised to bring him here over the weekend with daddy. And that's what happened...

We came at 4pm which is a few hours after lunch, so food is already digested and if we play here for a few more hours, we'll be just in time for dinner. So tea time is best for light snacks or none at all, but perfect if your kids loves running about like crazy or jump or climb. Atleast the chances of them puking is low!

Upon arrival, we registered ourselves in, took a photo together as a family with a webcam at the counter (for security purposes only). Then proceeded to get our hand wristbands. Jayden was below 2 years old (haven't reached his birthday) so he didn't need a tag, he can't even play most of the games.

Once we're in, we had to place our shoes, bags and strollers in the shelves (and put on your socks upon entering the play areas). Then the first thing to do which is compulsory, it's to get a character for yourself, to be able to play with the interactive games inside later on.

So it was the art photo first, followed by the 3D character animation with your face on the character! It was super cute and my son love it! Naturally as a born foodie himself (taking after me), he chose to be a chef for his character.

Then we proceeded inside, the first activity was the baby gym room for younger kids like mine. Jayden had a blast there! Daniel also had his fair share of fun with his brother and even me and my husband had fun too.

After that we headed to the HUGE pool filled with plastic balls! It was so much fun because even adults could enter to watch over your kids at a nearer distance or wait inside at the side while your kids go wild! My son was not used to it at first but he was pushing through the balls to get to the slide! Then it took him only awhile to be an expert at this area! We probably spent an hour here! He had so much fun with the other kids, some about his age and some slightly older than him.

The ball pool is shallow, hence, no jumping allowed but there were still older kids who jumps and their parents ignores it entirely. But there's a Kiddomo personnel inside overseeing all; They are like a safety lifeguard on standby there.

My youngest boy Jayden literally despise stepping into the ball pool. He would make a fuss and attempt to cry his eyes out whenever we try to let him in.

But I wouldn't recommend toddlers below 2 years old here (also subject to their height & courage) because they could be buried deep inside and it is not easy to find them, especially if they don't know how to push the balls away to get up. And don't expect other kids to be careful as they are playing inside because they are too focus having fun, it will make it harder to notice a young kid laying inside the pool of ball. So parents must always be there with your younger kids! That's your responsibility to your own child.

In the ball pool, there's an area where you have to locate the Dinosaur egg inside and place it over the egg scanner to see what Dinosaur you have caught. It's quite educational and interactive too. You can also play games with other kids at this area. Or just throw balls at each other just the fun of it. Parents also can play together, FINALLY! A pool of balls that adults can swim in for real!

Right next to the ball pool is cafe (on the right). They sell cafe food, snacks and drinks if you're hungry and your kids refuse to leave. You can grab a bite here without leaving Kiddomo Universe. They have a wide variety for your choosing. Pretty decent and neat concept! However, no eating allowed anywhere else inside except at the café here, so please don't low your kids to bring a sandwich into the ball pool because it is not allowed! If it gets dirty, you're not the one cleaning but that doesn't entitle you to be selfish ya. So please adhere to the rules inside for the better benefit of everybody.

There's also a small corner infront the cafe for you and your kids to read some books together or your kids can sit, layback and rest.

On the left side of the ball pool area are where the toilets and changing station are located at. There's a rubber slipper prepared outside the toilet for you to wear it in. So it keeps your socks dry. In the center, is a cute changing station room just enough for 1 parent to change their baby's diaper or to breastfeed their child. Sadly, I couldn't locate the plug point if you would have to pump breastmilk inside though, I could've missed it hidden somewhere but you can always call to check.

If you walk further in to the next area it's the YUME, the dream zone. It's really dark inside because it's all technology here and it's super cool! So please hold on to your kids and don't grab the wrong kid or wrong wife/husband, ahahahaha! There's a motion sensor TV display where you have to move to pop balloons.

Then you can also climb up to the slide area and slide down to see how fast you went as the slide will show you your scores right after you slide! If you follow the notice board on the slide, you can actually slide faster with the tips that they provided!

I tried it and I went at the speed of 790 (also because I'm heavier than my kid hahahhaha)!

Below the slide is a bicycle where it's coming soon, a new attraction on the way.

Then right next to it is the Karaoke room! You get to sing and dance and watch yourself on TV with backgrounds where you can choose from.

A little advise, don't wear light GREEN here! My husband wore light green and you can only see his head, hands and bottom half of his body! Lolx! It was hilarious that I burst out laughing!

There's also 2 machine here where you can swing the magic wand and play adventure games where you follow the instructions/direction to point and play.

In the center is a huge interactive play area that looks super cool! Perfect for adults or elderly kids. Table was too tall for my kids. However, I couldn't scan my tag on it. So was unable to play this game with my husband and kids. But the main highlight here is most definitely the animated 4R come alive Dinosaurs! And it's really cool!

Get your kids to choose which Dinosaur they'd like to color with crayons, readily available on the tables. Once they're done, bring over and place it under the scanner and tag the wristband to activate the scanning process. Then watch the huge wall screen for their animated Dinosaur to come alive and it will start walking around! If you colour 3 Dinosaurs and scan them in, you can actually create your own Dinosaur world for your kids and then you can proceed to get the Dinosaur world printed out to bring home. However there was no one attending to the printer then so I didn't print it.

Over here at Kiddomo Universe, they clean their premises every 3 weeks once. They use a germ-free system that really cleans thoroughly even in the ball pool. When I was there, it was really clean! I could just lay there all day without worrying. What I like about this playland is that upon entering, if they notice your child is feeling or looking unwell, they will be asked to take their temperature. However, some parents are insensitive and they refuse to allow that at times. So please co-operate lah, they are not implying that your child is unwell, they just want to be sure that they are feeling okay to be able to have fun inside for longer hours and it's also for the well-being of the other kids inside as well.

Basically if your kids starts to feel off or they just recovered (esp. from chicken pox, HFMD, viral infection etc) please keep them quarantined at home for another week or so. Because you wouldn't want to cause another child to be infected by your child's illness.

Don't be selfish and be understanding. You wouldn't want your kids to be affected through someone else the same way right? So be considerate, okay?

There's a few more attractions on the way that are still work-in-progress. But rest assured that this is definitely a place your kids and you will enjoy altogether as a family!

LIt's a great place for party too! I was glad to be able to see a party setup while I was there, so I got to experience how it is like having a party in there. You & your kids will surely love it! They also have a Kids Birthday Party Package for your choosing.

This place is huge! But if you feel lazy, you or your kids can sit and straddle on any unattended pony throughout the playland. It takes awhile to get used to straddling the pony so it will be funny at the start!

So if you're considering to drop by; Consider no more! Just come and bring the whole family along! Definitely well worth the time that you will be spending here, with all the precious memories and moments you and your family will create together! I was here for 2 hours, we were exhausted and hungry. My kids was asking for food. So we decided to walk the mall. Upon exiting, I found out that 2 hours is too little! There was a family who came at 11am and left at 6pm! I don't think I could last that long. My kids maybe yes, haha!

Please take note :
Bring socks for everyone when you come to play. In fact, bring socks everytime for everyone because majority playland require them. You can also buy it if you forgetten to bring. Also the interactive activities are only available for a limited time! So best to follow them on their channels to know what's happening!
