My "ME" time of Mom's Day Out with Pigeon Malaysia

Was glad to be able to attend this exclusive event for mom's to rejuvenate the mind, body and soul. It was held at Be Urban Wellness in Work @ Clearwater, Kuala Lumpur, in conjunction with Mother's Day!

During the event, I was able to experience a mind detox through yoga and mindful breathing to regain inner peace. To be honest, this breathing method feels so similar to Hypnobirthing! As many of you should be aware that I birth my baby out with 5 birth breaths; And this breathing method is somewhat alike so it was easy-peasy for me hehe...

After the mindful breathing, we were immersed in the healing sounds of Crystal Singing Bowls to re-calibrate our tired minds and bodies. During the session I sensed "space" and peace. Some moms even dozed off as you can hear them snoring.

After this mind, body, soul rejuvenating session, we adjourned downstairs to the Babe lounge/pool deck area for massage, tea time and introduction.

After the sharing session, we had a chance to experience upclose and personal with the variety of Pigeon Malaysia products.

It was a fun day out with other mummies. Everyone had their special "ME" time today! Thanks to Pigeon Malaysia.

Holiday Villa Subang "Selera Anak Rantau" Ramadhan Buffet Review

A truly extravagant line up of local delights like the Sup Huru Hara, Itik Salai, Ayam Golek Bertutu, Kambing Golek, Gulai Daging Rebah Bangun, Nasi Kerabu and all these and more featured here at Palm Terrace Coffee House @ Holiday Villa Hotel & Conference Centre in Subang Jaya.

During this Ramadhan from the 17th May to 14th June 2018, enjoy up to 250 authentic tantalizing spread of traditional and international dishes prepared by their talented Chefs!

You can even watch these chefs live 'goreng-goreng' stalls as they offer to you piping hot Malaysian all-time favourite snacks like the pisang goreng (fried banana), cempedak goreng (fried jackfruit), keledek goreng (sweet potato fritters);

They even have mee mamak or fried kuay teow made on the spot!

If you prefer some seafood grill, they have a good variety of seafood for you to choose from and also the kambing golek was my favourite! Soft, tender, juicy and succulent. I went for 3 rounds of servings!!

There's also a wide range of local Malay kueh, along with some yummy Beef broth "Sup Huru Hara", Nasi Kerabu and even Asam Laksa or Curry Laksa that my mom enjoys the Curry Laksa (because got fresh cockles) the most!

Aside from Palm Terrace's famed pastries, cakes and puddings that is super delicious and savory sweet, even me and my mom agrees it tastes really good and mind you, we rarely eat desserts during buffet! Even my son asked for second servings of cake and pudding. There's also some soupy desserts for consumption, fruits rojak, ABC, Cendol, Leng Chee Kang and fresh fruits!

My mom love the Ulam range available here. I never tried it before until today. It was satisfying.

The "Selera Anak Rantau" buffet experience will make you go for 2 to 3 or maybe 4 rounds of refill because that's what I did, I went for 4 rounds refill to try almost all the variety available here and I didn't want to go home yet. But my kids were annoying the hell out of me.

However, I must highlight, it's family friendly! Because I had a few automatic-babysitters helping me to keep an eye on my eldest who runs off to "pretend to take photos of food";

And my youngest who calls upon them (waitresses) to carry and bring him to the dried fruits & kurma platter, so he can grab a piece of the dried apricot and amazingly he gets them to bring him back to us-4 times!!

With Ramadhan just around the corner, it is now the best time to look out for the special Early Bird Promotions that's going on all around your favourite food eateries and especially buffet spreads at hotels too. Today allow me to introduce this sumptuous spread of culinary delights, the "Juadah Silka Buffet Dinner" that await diners at Silka Hotels Malaysia.

In Silka Maytower, Kuala Lumpur, the "Juadah Silka" spread offers a variety of unique traditional Malay dishes that is not commonly found elsewhere. Specially prepared by Chef Fazi, the hotel's executive chef and here with me during the buffet preview is the Sous Chef.

What's on the menu?

The Signature dishes are the Nasi Kabsab Kambing, Ayam Masak Kawah and Lemang with Chicken and Beef Rendang! It is a must-try!

I especially love the Telur Itik but it's spicy. Hence, the need for the telur itik because each bite of the egg and the yolk it blends well with the spicyness and it becomes a different flavour altogether! I find it really unique and I initially thought it was an octopus because it looks like a baby octopus head.

My kid love the satay, pisang goreng (fried banana) and also the keropok ikan aka fish crackers (again!).

As a parent, we always strive to provide the best for our children! That includes everything from birth onwards even until adulthood! A parents love never ends, it is a neverending journey. There's just so much love to go around; May it be 1 child, 2, 3, 4, 5 or no matter how many children you have, deep in every parents heart there's so much room and love to go around!

That being said, when a child reaches 6 months old, especially for a new parent, the biggest phase that all family goes through is "Solid" food feeding! What to feed? When to feed? How to feed? So many questions, even Google search has so many answers but which one is really "the one" that will ease the journey for both parent and baby through the solid food journey?

So today, allow me to introduce "Afyat - Food for Tots". It's a mix of deliciously 100% pure homemade healthy fruits & veggie baby puree!

Puree???
Yes, Puree! I know many of you are thinking that it won't taste good or probably thinking you can easily make it on your own.

Well most of you are true. Commercialized brands available at your local supermarket doesn't taste good. It doesn't taste real at all! More synthetic than the real thing! A lil word of caution, Beetroot & Pomegranate are both originally red in color, hence why this puree is red color. Rest assured there's added colouring! It's from these 2 ingredients! So be prepared for some red stains but it's fun altogether! My youngest helped to color my sofa cover with this 😂 (Luckily it's just the cover 😅)

5. Carrot, Apple

Carrots are great for the eyes (reeeeaalllyy lah, tak tipuuu!). This is orange in colour and its natural from the Carrot (incase you didn't know). The taste is of fresh carrots and apples. Your kids will never know that there's veggie in here!

My verdict : All the variants tastes great! I even help to finish whatever leftovers (which I don't usually do with Puree)! I never eat puree because it's not to my liking but these are just perfect! You can even mix and eat it with yogurts, if it's frozen it can be eaten like ice cream or make them like popsicles! You can also warm it up before feeding your child.

A great comfort food suitable anytime, anyday! If your child is unwell, you can also feed them these because it's non-dairy. It's not too sweet, for me it's just nice with it's natural sweetness.
