Global Inspiration This Ramadhan at Hard Rock Cafe KL

May 10, 2019 1
Hard Rock Cafe Kuala Lumpur, has got to be the most happening places to be! I came by to have a taste of their latest limited-time offering for their guests around-the-world, to enjoy a selection of locally-crafted, globally-inspired sliders and burgers!

It's not everytime you get to enjoy eclectic flavours with Hard Rock classics combining the best of both worlds during the Holy month of Ramadhan! The best is you get to enjoy these delicious meals from the 1st of May 2019 right up till 30th June 2019!

Sliders are the perfect kind of meal to share with friends and family! Especially during the Holy month of Ramadhan, it makes breaking fast together much more meaningful on a sharing platter!

Like over here there's the Passion Fruit Sliders (RM58), the winner of the BurgerRocker competition from Guanacaste, Costa Rica, jacob Gonzalez! As you can see there's 3 burger patties topped with sweet and smoky turkey bacon jam, creamy jack cheese and a crispy onion ring. I love how the sauce slides out of the slider burger that makes it look mouthwatering!

The All-American Sliders (RM58) are 3 burger patties topped with creamy American cheese and a juicy onion ring, atop a bed of coleslaw, served on toasted soft fluffy buns!

Buffalo-Style Sliders (RM58) are burger patties topped with spicy, classic Buffalo sauce, a crispy fried onion and the choice of cooling blue cheese or creamy ranch dressing!

Apart from sliders, the burgers that are locally crafted and globally inspired, is definitely not to be missed as well! From the Tex-Mex Cheeseburger (RM66) that is Hard Rock Cafe's signature burger with melted Jack cheese in between two crisp tortillas to add crave-able crunch, finished with guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce, tomato, onion on their toasted and fluffy bun. This is also another BurgerRocker Champion from Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Their BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger (RM66) that is topped with their signature BBQ sauce with melted cheddar cheese that is hard to resist! Includes with a crisp turkey bacon and crunchy shoestring onion straws served with fresh lettuce and tomato on a toasted bun. You will surely love this comforting food for the soul!

My favourite is the Double-Decker Double Cheeseburger (RM79), inspired by London heritage, the "Down Home Double Burger" was an original on Hard Rock Cafe's very first menu from 1971!! I love this because who could resist double the juicy, meaty and cheesy burger patty in a single bite. With 1lb. of juicy flavor patty topped with Cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato and red onion, served on a toasted bun. You must definitely have this!

*All burgers and sliders are served with seasoned fries for sure!

With all the sinfully delicious food above, we had to have some locally crafted and globally inspired beverages to quench our thirst as well! The best part is you get to enjoy these limited-time offers on their beverages too!

The Sparkling Blue Hawaiian with Hurricane glass (RM117), imagine yourself in Hawaii indulging in this beautiful blend of a tropical American classic drink invented in Hawaii in 1957. Made out of coconut rum, citrus vodka, blue caracao shaken with fresh line juice and pineapple juice that is topped with Prosecco!

Cookies and Cream Milkshake (RM58), not for kids that's for sure! This is meant for adults only because it is vanilla vodka blended with creamy vanilla bean ice cream, white chocolate and Oreo cookies finished with whipped cream and house-made brownie! Sounds delish but not for your kids! It's for adults only, I repeat! (Ps. The brownie is AMAZING!!!)

Peach Paddy O'Pounder with Mason Jar (RM102), consists of Whiskey, fresh brewed iced tea and the flavors of bright white peach, fresh lemon and mint. Very refreshing yet exhilarating!

Strawberry Mojito with Hurricane Glass (RM117), with coconut rum, freshly muddled strawberries, basil and lime juice finished with sparkling soda. This is my favourite! As long as there's strawberry, nothing will go wrong!

Pineapple Lemonade with Pint Glass (RM100), is non-alcoholic and hand-muddled pineapple shaken with a refreshing bubble lemonade finished with a grilled pineapple slice.

So do drop by and get your tastebuds satisfied at Hard Rock Cafe Kuala Lumpur.

FrogAsia Classroom by YTL Foundation Awards Night Ceremony

November 28, 2018 0
It was an evening of new exposure to new education that is already available in Malaysia the past 6 years since 2012. Tonight was a night of celebration and award ceremony where, Teachers and participating school across Malaysia and in the world, receives their well-deserve recognition from tonight's Gala dinner event.

You will be wondering what award ceremony is that about, especially with Teachers involved; Have you heard of FrogAsia? It's a system that enables our schools to implement into their classroom to inhibit interactive learning amongst Teachers and Students. Brought to you by YTL Foundation with FrogAsia, their concept is truly an eye-opening concept that can change the ways and methods of schools in Malaysia today.

Over 250 schools/classes were LevelUp! with FrogAsia system and layout over the past 6 years and they are aiming to have more schools and more classrooms maximizing the system.

The Frog Classroom Programme is an initiative by YTL Foundation in collaboration with FrogAsia, provider of the Frog VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) under the Ministry of Education’s 1BestariNet project.

What I really love about this system is that, it is like a classroom with NO books, NO worries of missing out on subjects (when teacher is away or when you are away from school etc), interactive learning through sights and sound, quick response from the Teachers and also feedback and discussions amongst students in forums can easily take place with FrogAsia technology.

Have you heard of the education in Finland? They also use such technology in their teaching methods. In fact, some schools across the globe like in UK already has such interactive technology in place.

In Malaysia, any school can apply for this sponsorship from YTL Foundation and FrogAsia after meeting the basic criteria to be on board of this exciting new technology that, in my honest opinion, should be rolled out across the nation!

However, the criteria to be on board is to ensure internet connectivity is available, to crowd-fund a minimum amount for the FrogAsia system to be implemented and once the school has collected enough funds for this initiative, they can apply and once it's approved, YTL Foundation will sponsor the revamping of 1 classroom for FrogAsia class to take place.

It's learning methods can consists of many things because it is a technology that does not limit your creativity. Hence, teachers use it to keep their students updated on upcoming lessons, lessons are taught using the application software pre-installed in the laptops and tablets in the classroom, back at home, parents can access the app the check their child's performances and results, students can even play quizzes that are created by the Teachers that can be shared across nationwide or globally.

And it can even be a fun learning method to answer quizzes as they learn the correct answers while score the highest to win awards and such.

Like today, there were awards for the Teachers, the schools and even a World Championship quiz competition where representative from a school in UK were present to receive their award. However, the most outstanding was the 1st Runner Up, an SMK in Malaysia won it and the World Champion was SRJK (C) in Malaysia.

With such technology and with these schools having classes like these for the students, it actually makes learning alot more fun! I wish they had it in my school back then, then I wouldn't skip class or schools that often.

Congratulations to all the Teachers and School Winners!
