Swiss Dream Circus Returns with "The Comeback" 2023

OMAIGOT! Yes! I am so excited and delighted to know my favourite Circus is back in Malaysia! A show not to be missed because the last round they were here it was before the pandemic. And it must've been tough to pull through and I was really wishing the best for all of them because they were really good! And when I received the newsletter I was thrilled and I believe they deserve this comeback!

From 28th June 2023 to 23rd July 2023 at Mutiara Damansara (Mutiara Park near The Curve, behind IKEA & opposite KidZania). The circus is one of the oldest cultural assets around the globe. In Switzerland there are over 14 circus companies and a variety shows that traditionally travel through the country.

Do you know that for years, the Malaysian Royal London Circus was the only circus in the country. Unfortunately, the company closed 2007 and there were no more circus appearances in Malaysia for years after. Thus creating the perfect opportunity for Ismail and Marco. As a result of this ambitious venture, various circus companies sprout up like mushrooms. There are currently three other companies travelling throughout Malaysia. At Swiss Dream Circus, we believe that quality is the only success worth measuring. Swiss Dream Circus stands for real circus where you can dream with open eyes. "SWISS" stands for quality, "DREAM" for diving into another world and "CIRCUS" for a truly family-centered entertainment which awakens old childhood memories all at once. It is our ambition to create a bridge between tradition and modernity with our circus, especially in this era of digital and technological transformation.

It is not always easy to lead a circus; an infinite number of hurdles must be overcome time and time again; without forgetting the enormous cheques we have to sign! Before the red curtain opens, tremendous organization goes on in the background. From marketing plans, booking of artists, obtaining permits, organizing visas, transport and accommodations, booking of flights … all of which make up an almost endless list of things to do.

Just ten days before the first performance, six containers unload tons of material. First, the venue has to be measured and marked, after which more than 80 anchors are rammed into the ground, to support the Big Top. The four 13-meter-high main poles are hydraulically installed. The 11-meter long dome hangs from it and four pieces of the tent fabric are tied and pulled upwards. Then the grand stand is assembled to fit a maximum capacity of 900 people. The wooden floor is laid and the carpet is rolled out. The artist's entrance with the red velvet curtain is set up and countless spotlights and the sound system are attached to the main poles. Two huge air conditioning chillers are connected by pipes to the tent. Power generators are mounted and erected in the awning; food stands are set up and decorated. After six days of hard work, the circus is set up. Now the artists have 4 days to get used to the new environment and together with lighting designers, sound engineers and choreographers, a new show is put together from single performances.

From dawn to dusk, rehearsing until the show comes together into a harmonious unity. Now the show can begin!

Swiss Dream Circus 2019 is back!

I still remember my first time experiencing the Swiss Dream Circus back in 2018 together with my family. It was surely a magical night not to be missed and a wonderful experience that is worth reliving the moments! You can read about it here or watch the video I've recorded down sharing my joy and the most magical moments at this circus!

So fast time flies, and it's already 2019! But so grateful to have them back here again in Malaysia at Desa Park City this coming 30th August till 22nd September 2019! Their fifth world-class show, marking their 5th Anniversary festivities with a brand new production themed "Celebration!".

For the very first time, Swiss Dream Circus will be presenting an amazing high rope act brought to you by the multi-award winning Dneprovtzki family! They recently just performed at the biggest European circus, the world renowned Circus krone in Germany.

And if you think juggling with your hands is a feat worth shouting about; Wait until you see what they've discovered at the International Circus Festival in Budapest;

A Ukrainian foot juggler, Stanislav Vysotskyi, after 21 years of juggling, he developed his own unique style of foot-tossing-juggling!

Then prepare to be blown away by their Swiss Trapeze artist, Janine Eggenberger, whose heart beats for aerial acrobatics. In Montreal, the capital of the modern circus, the young Swiss was trained by trainers from the Cirque du Soleil.

While you are mesmerized by Janine's air acrobatics shows, as she swings and sways to the magical tunes of our beautiful violinist, Jane Yong, the young Russian lady who made her Swiss Dream Circus debut in 2018 will be back once again to support individual acts with her beautiful voice and will captivate the audience with her violin.

A special treat for the younger audience will be the LED dancers, Extreme Light team, who are also from Ukraine;

And not forgetting Clown Victor Rossi, from France who will steal your heart away with his charming antics and clumsy nature.

Watch and be amazed as Zac Tomlinson turns a childhood pastime into a world-champion act with his jump-rope performance.

Get ready to lose your breath as Andrei balances on the wheel of death high up in the air. Andrei is born in the circus and loves taking calculated risks. Not only is he a gifted high wire artist, but he is also a terrific performer on the wheel of death. In this act, he makes daring jumps from as high as nine feet, taking your breath away. He will be here at the Swiss Dream Circus 2019 after completing a stint at a famous state circus in Tiflis, Georgia.

The show wraps up with another thrilling swinging trapeze performance from Veronika, who spent most of her life travelling with her parents in the circus.

Also be amazed with Elena Sanders, who is half American-half Costa Rican, a multidisciplinary circus artist specializing in aerial straps, contortion and hula hoops. At Swiss Dream Circus she will amaze you with her lovely contortion act. Stare in awe as she shoots an arrow into the center of the target with her feet! Famous from the Show of America’s Got Talent.

SWISS DREAM CIRCUS is coming to Desa ParkCity (Carpark 3, Plaza Arkadia) from 17th Aug to 9th Sept 2018. This is definitely a great time to come and bring your family and your children to come and explore the wonders of this years Circus show; It will be an artistic spectacle that will allow you to dream and be enchanted as you immerse yourself in a world full of amazing wonders and fun-filled emotions!

The line-ups of the internationally acclaimed performers from all over the world will be here to take you on a journey full of dreams, fantasies and take you beyond your wildest imaginations!

Evgenia (Violinist & Songstress) from Russia. For the first time the Swiss Dream Circus presents a violinist. The combination of live violin and harmonic performance opens up completely new possibilities to add to the charm of the show. Evgenia will also inspire you with her beautiful voice, as she enchants you with her violin.

Isabela Pessolano (Aerial Ring) Venezuela. For the first time, Swiss Dream Circus combines two different branches of the arts into a beautiful duet. Be enchanted as Isabela floats in the air while

she is accompanied by Evgenia’s enchanting violin playing. An awesome visual treat that makes you forget just how much power the artists need to make it look so harmonious.

Yurie Basiul (Handstand Act) Moldova. Yurie Basiul is a shooting star in the circus art industry and has already enchanted the audience with his "dream in white" on many major stages. He astounds the audience with his physical strength. His movements seem weightless, a result of years of hard training. It just looks so easy. I'm definitely ready to be blown away.

Maria & Alex (Pole Act) Romania. A great pole act is one that is both smooth and graceful. This artistic discipline is particularly difficult and requires enormous power and strength. These two award-winning Romanian artists are true masters of their craft and enchant their audience with a loving and seemingly effortless staging. It's even breathtaking from watching the picture.

Clown Tirro (Clown) Venezuela. South American Clown Tirro has spread laughter and joy throughout many countries in his 10 year career. Come and see his effortless interaction with the crowd and be tickled by his funny antics.

Igor & Tatiana (Knife Throwing Act) Russia. Real life couple Tatiana & Igor like to do “dangerous things” together. This is their first time in Asia and they are looking forward to amaze the Malaysian

audience.

Isabela & Ernesto (Cradle Act) Venezuela. This Venezuelan duo have dedicated their art to a very special prop – the Russian Cradle. Unbelievable jumps are performed by Isabela but she

always lands safely in the trusty arms of Ernesto. Trust and precision are extremely necessary to perform this act. In the past, they have performed primarily in South America and are looking forward to show-off their skills for the first time in Malaysia.

Jean (Drone Comedy) France. Jean has many artistic talents and one is certainly his humorous side. Jean and his drone. A funny parody between man and machine.

Duo Romance (Aerial act) Romania. "We are proud that we were able to secure this award-winning couple from the Romanian State Circus Globus to our show. With amazing power and elegance they present a wonderful act which combines sensuality with just the right amount of risk – creating an unforgettable “Love Story” in the air." Get ready to be mesmerized by this amazing couple as they counterbalance gravity with their impressive figures in the circus dome.

Flames & Co (Diabolo) France. Jean and Morgan, the French duo, amaze with their virtuoso diabolo act. Awarded at the Festival International du Cirque du Loir-et-Cher in France and now after a guest appearance in Switzerland they are now on tour with Swiss Dream Circus. An old Chinese toy has encouraged them to create a fantastic performance. It is magical when the burning diabolo flies high in the circus dome. A mix of dance and incredible moves make this act a very special experience.

Trio Naumov (Russian Bar) Russia. This exceptional award-winning trio was once part of world-renowned Cirque du Soleil. Their main apparatus is the Russian Bar – a thin fibreglass

bar that supports one while resting on the shoulders of strong porters. Don’t miss their legendary triple somersault that is sure to keep you at the edge of your seat.

A good circus is one that leaves an impact and mesmerizes the audiences through the artists in the ring, that not only does their job with perfection but lives for what they do and conveys emotions through their actions!
