Family Fun at Best Western i-City Shah Alam

December 19, 2019 0
For school holidays, parents all around will surely be brainstorming to plan where to go with the family for some fun moments to enjoy together! This time around, we brought our kids to Best Western at i-City Shah Alam.

I love how the hotel has a special add-on where it's pretty rare nowadays to check-in & check out 24 hours!

This "My Stay is My Way" package of additional RM60 allows guests to check-in/check-out anytime we'd like and it also comes exclusive with a Minibar Pack. This is perfect for families, especially with younger children as timing can get really unpredictable!

As we arrived, we were amazed at the efficiency of the check-in counter and the entire interior was really homey.

There was also a super cute corner where we can rent a fish for RM5 per night. There's 4 beta fish with their own personality awaiting to accompany our family on our holiday moments! Hence my son picked Jasper.

There was a pop up stall that offers quick snack and drinks on-the-go right next to the entrance and did I mention how friendly the staffs were? Even the guard was friendly, we could also borrow an umbrella as a guest of the hotel if it rains.

This corner next to the check-in counter offers their guests a quick treat to-go and it really brings back good childhood memories!

Our room was really cosy and comfy, and I like how it was a connected room which is good for bigger family with more than 4 pax!

They also prepared a baby cot for my baby in advance and a single bed in the connected room for my Mother-In-Law.

Upon checking-in, my kids were excited to know that the hotel provides us unlimited access to the Waterpark in i-City. Hence, they immediately get ready themselves-like MAGIC! to head out to the waterpark.

Firstly, we must download the i-City mobile application on our device and validate the entry at the front desk of our hotel first. Then only we head to the waterpark to scan the code to enter. Every room is entitled for 2 adult unlimited entry free. Any additional headcount must be purchased at the Waterpark entrance. Kids below 90cm height is free to enter.

The waterpark was pretty decent with different segments offering different fun and play areas for the whole family. The kids pool was crowded but crowded with lots of screams of joy and laughter!

We went to the water waves area to warm up first. I prefer that spot the most because it is shallow, visible and wide enough for everyone. And at specific timing the water waves will come forward as if we were by the beach side with the ocean waves rushing towards us. It was super fun! Even my baby was curious all the time as I was babywearing her in my Sukkiri Mesh ring sling from UnisonCA.

After awhile, we decided to adjourned back to the hotel for lunch and we must scan out of the waterpark so we can re-enter again later in the late afternoon.

After a good fun time together at the waterpark, we were hungry and Best Western actually had a unique menu that is worth experiencing! Their "Go Beyond Signature" menu that truly goes beyond your expectations! It is a mix of East meets West and it is a super unique fusion cuisine that you will hardly find it anywhere else!

After lunch, my kids were sleepy so we decided to stay in the hotel room and enjoy our time together to just unwind and relax.

Evening came and we decided to order in-room dining for dinner. It was the best decision ever! It was delicious! As unique and delicious as their lunch menu!

After dinner, we decided to head out to i-City night life as it comes alive with all the beautiful lights! Lots of fun and activities all along the way for the children and adults.

The very next day, I was looking forward for breakfast, so I woke up the earliest and had revenge on my kids. It was finally my turn to wake them up for breakfast! (Hahahahaha)

Breakfast was lovely, their eggs counter was especially yummy with variety for your choosing! I love the seating are inside and also outside.

After breakfast, we were back again to the waterpark!

For lunch this time we gotten the Hi-Tea Buffet Package as it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

My table was ready and waiting for me when we arrived, the food was delicious and the clown was entertaining the children with balloons of all sorts.

They even had keropok lekor! My all-time must-have favourite! Once we've settled our lunch cum hi-tea, we decided to burn off those extra calories at the waterpark again. After all these fun moments, it was actually time to say Goodbye and See You Again soon! My husband was already talking about planning another visit here with the family and his family also, atleast 3 families together. Because it was really fun and stress-free! We check-out at 4pm and headed back home (30 minutes away only).

However, no matter the distance, as long as the moments spent together is worth it, that's all that matters!

Sunway Lagoon 61st National Day Celebration

August 17, 2018 0
Celebrating Wonder Years with Sunway Lagoon together with your family as we are nearer to National Day and Malaysia Day! 2018 marks Malaysia's 61st Merdeka celebration (or very own Independence day!). And to commemorate the wonderful occasion, Sunway Lagoon launched it's "Proud To Be Malaysian" campaign inconjunction with the unveiling of "One", a mesmerizing and beautifully made 7 Bisons sculptures, created by Infantino Fernandes, from India. He is a self-taught artist who is now a full-time sculptor, His work of art has travelled to many countries such as China, Japan, Australia, Dubai, Kuwait, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Malaysia; And commissioned by various International Hotel chains.

Incase you didn't know, Infantino has been onboard with Sunway group since 2014, his first commission being the 'Yang' in 2015 followed by 'Victor' in 2016.

The amazing 7 Bisons sculptures directly opposite Sunway Lagoon theme park main entrance, depicting Gaurs (Indian Bisons), looks really life-like! It is made out of 7000 strips of mild steel and it took Infantino 22months to complete it from August 2016 to April 2018! This beautiful work of art is called at 'One' and signifies unity; Sunway Group are looking to get 'One' on The Malaysia Book of Records for the "Most Number of Metal Sculptures in a Single Collection by a Solo Artist category"! 'One' also transcripts a message behind it's work of art;

As individuals at our core, with all the differences in our personalities and characters, WE ARE ONE. Through "One", the artist seeks to instill in the viewer, the hope that someday we will come together as a herd that thinks about the betterment of all its members. Someday, we will UNITE; Someday, we will be "ONE".

To kick-off the celebrations, Sunway Lagoon Theme Park has lined up fun-filled activities from 17th August - 16th September 2018, such as Cultural Dance performance, Silat Workshop, the Flag Hoisting Ceremony and Traditional Games such as the 'Congkak', 'Sepak Raga' and 'Batu Seremban'. By celebrating the country's rich cultural heritage together, it helps to instil the spirit of patriotism in Malaysians. I generally love this idea, because kids these days are too exposed to technology and new gadgets. leaving all these wonderful traditional games behind.

What's even better is, Merdeka babies will be entitled to a mystery gift by flashing their MyKad at the ticketing counter on 31st August 2018!

Apart from the games and fun-filled activities lined up, visitors can also expect performances like the art of 'Teh Tarik' puring and 'Roti Canai' tossing on 16th September. Young visitors will also receive LIMITED EDITION 'Proud To Be Malaysian' temporary tattoos and other goodies on Merdeka Day and Malaysia day itself!

That's not all! There will be bazaars and food stalls available for foodies to complete the Malaysia Bazaar Bingo Card game in return for cool prizes! From 17th August to 9th September, the weekly 'Man VS Food: 61 sec' challenge will test the strength of participants' belt line!

When I first visited Sunway Lagoon decades ago, it was just a short walk in the park. Coming back again with my son, I am in awe! With more than 90 attractions across SIX parks! That is crazy! Now spreading across over 88-acre!

Today alone, I took 10k steps, approx. 33km just walking in the theme park alone, from the Extreme Park to the Nickelodeon Water Park to the Wildlife Park. Usually there's a bus that takes you to places faster, but couldn't spot any bus today in the park.

From 17th August - 16th September 2018, guests can enjoy RM61 off Sunway Lagoon's admission fee by presenting your MyKad (even when purchasing tickets online). Senior citizens will also be able to visit the park for FREE with their family! So bring your whole family to Sunway Lagoon, especially now with the school holiday season has begun!

Swiss Dream Circus Malaysia

August 01, 2018 0
SWISS DREAM CIRCUS is coming to Desa ParkCity (Carpark 3, Plaza Arkadia) from 17th Aug to 9th Sept 2018. This is definitely a great time to come and bring your family and your children to come and explore the wonders of this years Circus show; It will be an artistic spectacle that will allow you to dream and be enchanted as you immerse yourself in a world full of amazing wonders and fun-filled emotions!

The line-ups of the internationally acclaimed performers from all over the world will be here to take you on a journey full of dreams, fantasies and take you beyond your wildest imaginations!

Evgenia (Violinist & Songstress) from Russia. For the first time the Swiss Dream Circus presents a violinist. The combination of live violin and harmonic performance opens up completely new possibilities to add to the charm of the show. Evgenia will also inspire you with her beautiful voice, as she enchants you with her violin.

Isabela Pessolano (Aerial Ring) Venezuela. For the first time, Swiss Dream Circus combines two different branches of the arts into a beautiful duet. Be enchanted as Isabela floats in the air while
she is accompanied by Evgenia’s enchanting violin playing. An awesome visual treat that makes you forget just how much power the artists need to make it look so harmonious.

Yurie Basiul (Handstand Act) Moldova. Yurie Basiul is a shooting star in the circus art industry and has already enchanted the audience with his "dream in white" on many major stages. He astounds the audience with his physical strength. His movements seem weightless, a result of years of hard training. It just looks so easy. I'm definitely ready to be blown away.

Maria & Alex (Pole Act) Romania. A great pole act is one that is both smooth and graceful. This artistic discipline is particularly difficult and requires enormous power and strength. These two award-winning Romanian artists are true masters of their craft and enchant their audience with a loving and seemingly effortless staging. It's even breathtaking from watching the picture.

Clown Tirro (Clown) Venezuela. South American Clown Tirro has spread laughter and joy throughout many countries in his 10 year career. Come and see his effortless interaction with the crowd and be tickled by his funny antics.

Igor & Tatiana (Knife Throwing Act) Russia. Real life couple Tatiana & Igor like to do “dangerous things” together. This is their first time in Asia and they are looking forward to amaze the Malaysian
audience.

Isabela & Ernesto (Cradle Act) Venezuela. This Venezuelan duo have dedicated their art to a very special prop – the Russian Cradle. Unbelievable jumps are performed by Isabela but she
always lands safely in the trusty arms of Ernesto. Trust and precision are extremely necessary to perform this act. In the past, they have performed primarily in South America and are looking forward to show-off their skills for the first time in Malaysia.

Jean (Drone Comedy) France. Jean has many artistic talents and one is certainly his humorous side. Jean and his drone. A funny parody between man and machine.

Duo Romance (Aerial act) Romania. "We are proud that we were able to secure this award-winning couple from the Romanian State Circus Globus to our show. With amazing power and elegance they present a wonderful act which combines sensuality with just the right amount of risk – creating an unforgettable “Love Story” in the air." Get ready to be mesmerized by this amazing couple as they counterbalance gravity with their impressive figures in the circus dome.

Flames & Co (Diabolo) France. Jean and Morgan, the French duo, amaze with their virtuoso diabolo act. Awarded at the Festival International du Cirque du Loir-et-Cher in France and now after a guest appearance in Switzerland they are now on tour with Swiss Dream Circus. An old Chinese toy has encouraged them to create a fantastic performance. It is magical when the burning diabolo flies high in the circus dome. A mix of dance and incredible moves make this act a very special experience.

Trio Naumov (Russian Bar) Russia. This exceptional award-winning trio was once part of world-renowned Cirque du Soleil. Their main apparatus is the Russian Bar – a thin fibreglass
bar that supports one while resting on the shoulders of strong porters. Don’t miss their legendary triple somersault that is sure to keep you at the edge of your seat.

A good circus is one that leaves an impact and mesmerizes the audiences through the artists in the ring, that not only does their job with perfection but lives for what they do and conveys emotions through their actions! For Swiss Dream Circus, it is their passion to create a great Circus experience of exceptional quality that is fun, entertaining and remembered for, for everyone!

Marco Baumgartner - Founder & Producer & Ismail Stork - Marketing & Organization
Each year, Swiss Dream Circus embrace the challenge of putting together new, amazing and engaging Circus spectacle, whereas this year, you can expect a unique combination of traditions with innovative modernity that will entertain everyone of all ages, from all walks of life!

Don't you want to see it all live in action?! Then this is the chance for you! Don't miss it as it will be an unforgettable experience under their Big Top! I definitely won't because my kids would surely enjoy it.

Raya Day 2 Outing with the Kids

June 16, 2018 0
Raya Day 2, was also interesting for us. We visited a new restaurant nearby for noodles (non-halal), it was kind of costly but the pork balls were nice, the noodles had lots of big fat fried pork lards in it, you can read more here.

After lunch, my husband just didn't wanna go home, so we decided to venture out to Cyberjaya.

Yes, it was our first time to Cyberjaya and I was kind of disappointed because I was expecting to be "WOW-ed" since it's supposed to be a digital city etc. But sadly... I felt Putrajaya was far better in comparison.

We went to DPULZE Mall in Cyberjaya for window shopping. Played some games at the Molly Fantasy children's arcade and had some snacks and drinks along the way. We saw this vending machine where people won prizes etc, so we decided to try our luck and we "asked which number was calling to us that will bring us more money with ease?" (Using the tools from Access Consciousness) Both of us got the #13!

We won this smartphone camera lens clip with Macro and Fish-Eye lens. It was fun because it was the exact same thing my husband was talking to me the day before about asking me to find a camera lens for my phone because of my love for photography. And "ta-daaaa" we got what we asked for! Amazing right!

So a new cute tool for me to play with and practise with. We also checked out TGV cinema and we wanted to buy tickets to Incredible 2 but there was no Twin Seats and just regular seats so we forgo the idea. We might try for tomorrow instead!

We then took a quick drive to Putrajaya and enjoyed the view of the bridge overlooking the sweet serenity of the man-made lake. It was just breathtaking.

We head back in time for a birthday party event and my kids had lots of fun (apart from me raising my stern voice because I forbid my son to go upstairs without permission, my husband almost ROFL because everyone freezed and looked at me in silence for that brief moment, that is the effect I have when I use my strict motherly voice) atleast my son is aware, he understands and listens.

So I am grateful to him for being a good boy most of the times. He is at the stage where he wants to have his own opinion and choice, and I allow him all of that, if he is aware of his action and choices.

It was a fun day for the whole family. It was not perfect, nothing is perfect but it is the best kind on its own.

Ps. The Go-Grill-Lah was delicious!

Day Trip With Kids to Subang Jaya - Amverton Cove Resort

June 15, 2018 12
This year for Hari Raya, we celebrated it by embracing the local sights and sceneries. And I'm not talking about watching a movie or going to the museum or going on a holiday.

We had a nice and messy lunch at a local hawker center in Ss15, Subang Jaya and then some snacks for tea time, for our journey. My kids being naturally messy eaters, left me helpless when I ran out of tissue paper! But thankfully, I had the Travel DRY Wipes tube in my bag and I took 2 capsules out and wet it; And magically, the dry wipes became wet wipes! The best part is, I was able to use the same singular wipe continuously each, 1 for both of my sons until we finished eating lunch! It was like having a wet hanky in hand, that is reusable and cleans well, without tearing easily. It's 100% cotton, hence gentle on all skin types! And yes, I am recommending, promoting & selling this because I'm using it myself also.

This is my half-lunch (cos I ate my kids leftover lunch), a new crunchy and chewy Ramen (rm2.50) you can add on to your Oden (Original or Tom Yam Soup) at Family Mart outlets!

Tried this interesting Avocado Milkshake. Avocado with Honey and Low Fat milk (RM11.90). It was very "fulfilling", please don't take this if you're full! But it's an awesome drink to quench your thirst and hunger, it's healthy too, with good fats! This is located at where Taiyaki used to be in SS15, Taiyaki closed shop already, couldn't find it...

Instead of heading home, my husband just felt like adventuring out, driving to places for a day trip. So we decided to head out to Amverton Cove at Pulau Carey, Klang (30-45min drive) on Raya Day 1. (He was hoping I'd agree to go Port Dickson instead, but no, not today)

We were in love with this place because of its green surroundings and beautiful serene lake. There were lots of fun things to do here too! Although food options here, in terms of venue, is kind of limite; but it is a great place to be with the whole family.

Children activities here are aplenty! We didn't partake in any though, we were just here for a stroll.

Our kids loved it even though it was a short and simple day trip. We were able to enjoy the nice cool breeze and the soothing views, we even watched people "kayak-ing" in the lake and being splashed by a huge pail of water in the swimming pool area.

This is definitely on our list to have a good family holiday here soon!

After that we headed to grab a quick dinner treat at ss15 Subang Jaya.

We tried this Aboong which turned out to be desserts. But luckily they had it in waffles without the ice cream.

I bought Lim Fried Chicken for myself (without the rice). And this was our dinner, it's pretty satisfying and simple. The kids enjoyed the Aboong waffles and also croissants (from Giant) back at home.

They had loads of fun today! Who said we had to spend money on shopping to be happy? Or visit malls to entertain our kids? Or even taking your kids to themeparks or play areas to spend time with them? The possibility are endless out there! There's aplenty that one family can do together with their kids, the key is knowing how to make everything fun! Why make life so serious when you can make it fun for everybody! Hope you had a great Raya celebration with your loved ones and a fun-filled holiday!

2nd day of Raya we spontaneously ventured into Cyberjaya & Putrajaya, you can read more here (it's quite short because nothing to see at Cyberjaya ahahahahha)
