From 1st October to 1st November, families can look forward to a host of eerie and hair-raising activities at KidZania Kuala Lumpur's Spooky Fun Festival. This includes a Midnight Hour challenge that will have visitors searching for the antidote to a zombie virus outbreak!!

Great bonding moments amongst parents and children!

That's not all! This year's Spooky Fun Festival will have three levels of scare to cater to different age demographics namely Daylight for younger kids, Moonlight for older kids and Midnight for Family & Friends edition.

The Midnight Hour (Family & Friends) along the City Streets (National Store)
Brave through the horrors of The Midnight Hour in search for the antidote to the zombie virus apocalypse that has plagued the city and its inhabitants.

I literally ran out screaming even though the ghastly ghosts, zombies and horrors that was awaiting us inside the Panic Mansion, were not allowed to touch us and we're also not allowed to touch them and we were led by a fairy with a super duper tiny torchlight! Plus having to stop to ask every single ghastly creatures inside for the antidote and also checking to see if it is the RIGHT antidote, if not you have to re-enter again.

Me and my friend Christy were so lucky to have gotten the right antidote on the first attempt and literally walked out really fast and I screamed as I jumped out of the entire area. Hence, for facing my fears we won first place during the Media preview event.

There's also other weekend workshops and establishment activities that your kids will surely enjoy!

KidZania Kuala Lumpur's Science & Space School Holiday Programme

May 03, 2019 0
With the mid-term holidays coming up this May 2019, KidZania Kuala Lumpur officially launched their Science & Space variable school-holiday programme! The launch was officiated by Guest of Honour, Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr. Mazlan Othman, the first Malaysian astrophysicist and former Director General of the Malaysian National Space Agency (Angkasa), who also served as the Director of the United Nations Office for Outer space Affairs.

The Science & Space programme that will be specially-designed fun, engaging and educational activities centred on the theme of space and science; Will make KidZania Kuala Lumpur so much more cooler than before! Kids will definitely explore new horizons and wonders through space and learn to enjoy science in a whole another level that will assist to further enhance and develop their vital life skills such as problem solving and logical thinking that is relevant to our everyday life.

I love the idea of Science & Space as it cultivates an important mindset in young minds that allows them to go beyond their imagination and see beyond being "Astronauts" in space. In fact, with the variety of activities that are lined up thanks to collaborating partners on board; It makes KidZania the place to bring your child this coming school holidays to learn and enjoy at the same time.

Mayor of KidZania Kuala Lumpur, Shahrul Nizar Ahmad said that this will be an unforgettable and most importantly, enjoyable experience for kids and their parents as well. As everyone gets to learn and be engaged through the activities and workshops about sciences and our universe just by participating together.

What to look out for?

Kids can also learn how to build their very own paper satellite in the Kem Angkasa activity that will be available to the first 15 limited slots on first come first serve basis, 3 slots per day for 30 mins.

Google Expeditions
Another main activity that I love is a Virtual Tour using Virtual Reality (VR) goggles to destinations in space. A very basic general introduction to space that will definitely blow your mind once you put those goggles on! The app is free to download too on your app stores in your own mobile, however, u may require the Google Expedition Goggles or VR Goggles to allow your child to experience space in their own eyes. This Google Expeditions VR Experience is definitely an activity to look forward to!

The Science Bridge Academy
Two main activities that will be entertaining and educational for the kids are the Making Galaxy Slime activity where kids learn about chemistry, the states of matter and how the composition of materials are made out of atoms and molecules by concocting their own galaxy slimes. Another is the hydrophobic properties while learning how to make their own moon sand in the Making Moon Sands activity.

School Holidays at KidZania Malaysia, Introduces "KidZ vs Food 3.0"!

November 15, 2018 11
It's the time of the year again, every year end where kids enjoy their school holiday to prepare for the new semester next year. And being parents, sometimes we wonder what are the activities that we can do with our kids with over a month long holiday break in session?!

Cooking at home is fun but it'll be more fun if we have the space and also friends his age that he can relate and cook together with. Also with an expert and a safe environment is important for your child's safety. I don't encourage children to walk into your kitchen and start cooking without learning "how" in the first place. It can become hazardous!

As you can see my son loves cooking so much that everytime I step into the kitchen he always begs to cook instead. But I have this fear of him hurting his little fingers because my kitchen is not CHILD-SAFE! With the gas stove on and the electrical parts running etc and handling the knife and hot water etc. You really should google up more on child safety in the kitchen and that's why I feel it's important for a child to go for a proper cooking class before actually starting from home, unless you are the expert yourself and your kitchen is safe for kids to be in. Thankfully, KidZania has answered my big ask and this year from 24th November to 31st December 2018, will be introducing to Malaysia the "KidZ vs Food 3.0" activity that will be held at KidZania Kuala Lumpur!

KidZ vs Food 3.0 covers a wide holiday programme that is specially curated for kids, with daily and weekend activities of hands-on activities such as learning the ingredients, preparing food and also cooking. It cultivates your child to know how to work with and appreciate food in all its nature.

The KidZania CongreZZ kids, with special guidance from (Centre – Left) Chef Brian Chen of Young Chefs Academy, cooks and serves yummy dishes to the kids from the Hilla Community Centre during the ‘KidZ vs Food 3.0’ launch. (Centre – Right) Shahrul Nizar Ahmad, Mayor of KidZania Kuala Lumpur was present to witness the serving of this special feast.

Today's launch of this holiday programme, featuring KidZania's CongreZZ kids who cooked up a storm for the children of Hilla Community Centre.

KidZania CongreZZ kids prepare the food with help from Chef Brian Chen, the Executive Chef and Managing Partner, Young Chefs Academy at the launch of KidZania Kuala Lumpur ‘KidZ vs Food 3.0’ programme.

With the help of professional chef 'Abang' Brian from the Young Chefs Academy (YCA), the children of Hilla Community Centre were treated to a meal of Turmeric Chicken and long beans with rice and Banana Chocolate Rolls for dessert.

KidZania CongreZZ kids showcase amazing teamwork in cooking up a storm for their underprivileged friends at the launch of KidZania Kuala Lumpur ‘KidZ vs Food 3.0’.

It is really inspiring to have activities such as this that truly dedicates to teaching and instilling the right skills that every child should possess. As cooking is a part of a survival skill and it's fun to explore flavours, textures and ingredients altogether. Through cooking, it will also encourage one to self-explore more into enjoying life filled with the abundance of food and ingredients all around us and at the same time instill confidence in self as they cook their own meals. This in fact, helps to nurture our children to be independent.

I've always wanted my son to take on my hobby of enjoying food from all over the world and if he desires to be a chef one day, who am I to reject his dreams. But I will surely bring him over to learn these basic skill while allow him to have fun and enjoy cooking in the process. Keeps me (as a parent) sane as well.

The KidZ vs Food 3.0 programme includes of the following pop-up stations inside KidZania :

#1 Pop Up Kitchen - Create simple food recipes
#2 Drink Station - Create simple beverage recipes

Even though it may be a long school holiday break but not a work holiday break, just remember that 'work never really ends', but your child is growing up everyday and before you know it, they will be working like you for the rest of their lives. So take this time off and truly spend them with your loved ones because they matters most. Your work can wait another day, but your growing child can't. Don't wait until it's too late.
